Hi Shirley,
I think this dolphin may have been trained to do this dousing of the crowd.
I like the porpoise for purpose pun.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a terrific rest of the week.

Shirley Ann,
This was ingenious 5-7-5 writing for this contest entry. Apparently, your post was Paul Bunyan-esque LOL
Your photograph really complemented your verse. There was a purpose to your madness - nice going!! Congrats on your win.
Mark
P.S. In hindsight, I would recommend a period or dash after your middle line to set off your pun conclusion.

Met criteria for contest. The pun was all-age humorous while the technicality of word usage benefited the subject (animal). However, the tone of the entire 5-7-5 poem does not match the image, where they are expecting to get splashed at a show. The poem would suggest a tone that is undelighted and otherwise blaming or finding fault in the subject.

Hello!
I have to admit, I am having a ball reading all these animal poems. Yours was another great one! I know one thing: I am going to have a hard time voting when this goes to vote. Your punchline was very clever! Good luck!

This 5-7-5 was indeed witty. I have seen dolphins at special marinas splash the crowd. Your play on words in the last line was terrific. Also, your photo enhances your whole presentation. Rod
