This was terrific! I loved it! So much imagery ... I could picture you exiting the elevator, mounted on the backs of Robert Zimmerman and Roy Owen, arms extended and handled by Neonewman and Humpwhistle... until it all went south. How do you straddle, wearing an evening gown? For that matter, how do you stand back up and reclaim your dignity? And you, with bionic knees?
Why did Lee call you "Big Dog"? It doesn't seem to fit such a gorgeous and refined girl.
I enjoyed your poems, too. It's what we have to do when inspiration strikes. I always carry a small notebook and pen with me. Otherwise, an idea would disappear, never to be recalled again. Loved these lines,
"So... What to do?
What to say?
What to plot
To have my day
And ensure my embarrassment
Goes far, far away?"
and,
"I felt like a twit
As I gathered my wits
Hair's on the fritz
A real champagne blitz
This must be what it means
To be "Putting on the Ritz" "
The whole thing made me think of my Christmas story last year, "A Fanstory Christmas Carol". It was such fun to put together, and I know you had fun putting this Fanstory convention together, too. I believe I had you playing Mrs. Cratchit. Judi (judiverse) did such a great job of directing the play right there in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Yes! I also was zapped with a "warning" about my use of that particular phrase, but when I wrote this piece, I was in the clear!
When I received Rachelle's and Gretchen's invitation to join in the fun by writing my own version of Chapter 38, I was under the impression that I would have to spend all of this week as a juror for a trial in Traverse City. Thus, I went to bed Sunday evening fretting about what to write, and this is what resulted when I awoke before dawn on Monday. Having never been "sloshed" or "soused" in my life, I am a bit amused as that is where my pen took me! :)
I hope you get a chance to read all of the versions = really creative and fun!

Actually, I think it was the word 'vivid.' I had mentioned it to Tom. I wasn't very happy at the time, but it is the way the program is. It is interesting to know where things take you. I am reading as many versions as I can. It was a great challenge. You are welcome for the review, diane.

A bit out of my comfort zone with this one, and under a bit of pressure, as I needed to write it pronto on Monday before I began what I thought was going to be a week of Jury Duty in our city.
Jury Duty was summarily cancelled yesterday early evening...
