Excellent atmospheric poem about the hunting of the night. Inside, with the windows open one can hear the sounds, and see the sky of the owls and the rabbits going about the inevitability of life and death.
I enjoyed this very much. :)

Gloria,
Thank you for the kind review. I live in the country and it's quiet at night. Eerily so sometimes.

Another beautiful nature poem Cecilia. Capturing all the wonderful sound of evening in the countryside. I don't live in the country but we live near a horse trainers farm and sometimes he gets goats in for the grass. You can hear them sometimes but not as peaceful as the quiet in the countryside! Beautiful well done
Best Wishes

Nicki,
Thank you again for a lovely review. Yes, the country in the evening is awesome with all of nature coming out rummaging for food.

That knotty tree is beautiful. You told your story very well. I love when I had a small forest behind where I was living. I would walk around gathering twigs for starting our fire, and pine cones for crafting. Sometimes I would just sit and breath it all in. Good work. Karen

Karen,
Thank you for the review. I have always loved walking in the woods/forest. It brings a sense of peace to me. When I first joined the Navy there were no forest around, so I for inner peace I turned to the ocean. Its sound are very soothing.

Since I can't swim, And the sun is not my friend, water never had real appeal for me.
I am glad however that you could make the switch. :-)

Oh, I'm sorry you don't know the pleasure of the ocean. It's very soothing.

Hi Cecilia, I love this poem...love the wording...
my parents were as country as it gets...rednecks...
same as my brother and sister...
my parents lived where Christ lost His sandals...in the
backwoods...
when I used to go visit them...I would sleep on the couch
in the living room...you could see out a big pane window...
and they had a tall pole with a bright light on it...every night
an owl would sit at the top of it...and I would watch him through
the night...my dad would throw corn in the prairie for the deer
at night...and I would watch them as well...along with all the
creators you mentioned in your poem...it was very surreal...
I love you poem...and love the picture...very well written my sweet friend...love Linda xxoo

You have painted a very vivid picture of the sounds of a night in the country. As a city girl, you tweaked my imagination as I read your thorough, and enjoyable descriptions.

I really enjoy the way you've shared a picture of the night through sounds and movement! The way you describe the creatures in the darkness feels so alive. I especially like how you include the peaceful moments like the owl's hoot. Keep up the great work! Your poem really captures nature beautifully.

I've always loved how when the sun sets a different world comes to life, the nocturnal one and that we hear so many different creatures that we don't hear during the day. A well written piece, Cecilia, I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, God has given us so many delightful things in nature. Like the fall colors, rainbows, sunrises, and sunsets. God is good.
