The author's words are detailed, interesting and creating. I liked the
author in each stanza describes Thunderstorms. The poem flows and
connects well. The artwork is perfect and compliment these words.

I love thunderstorms especially on a warm summer evening. I will shut off all the lights and sit near the window to watch the beautiful display of lightning and listen to the thunder as it rattles the house. You did a lovely job portraying those feelings in your poem. Thanks for sharing.

This is a good descriptive poem of a summer thunderstorm. I love a good thunderstorm as long as my power stays on and my trees stay standing. A couple notes: stanza five, line 4, spelling--baited=bated; stanza seven, line 3, missing or extra word?--washing away all THE in its path. Great image to illustrate the poem, easy to imagine the sights, sounds, and smells of the storm.

I've never experienced a tornado, but growing up I have never liked storms. You did a good job on your free form. It flowed from the beginning to the end.

I'm a thunderstorm aficionado as well. There is something about the raw power of nature that both thrills and gets adrenalin pumping. I like your free verse. Each "stanza" is a little snapshot of one aspect of the storm. Lines such as: "Wind whipping the trees, and shedding their coats" -- is such a fine word painting. I enjoyed your smattering of rhyme, internal and external, and whispers of alliteration as well. Very nicely written!

The rest of my clan thinks I'm the oddball. What's not to love about a storm!

You did a great job with this. The detail is excellent, I really enjoyed it. We don't get much thunder in Ireland, when we do it's pretty tame! Well done, thanks for sharing.
Best Wishes
Nicki

    Nicki,

Thank you for your kind review. It amazes me that you don't have many thunderstorms in Ireland. Do you sunny skies or are they gray and dismal like England.

When we lived in Washington states we would get rain, but hardly any thunderstorms.

Growing up in Upstate New York I grew up with some phenomenal thunderstorms. I just love them. I especially love them when I''m going to sleep. They are soothing.

I remember a bad one when I was child and the lightening was amazing! I was afraid of thr thunder though it was so loud! It rare we get it overhead as I'm living in a town on coast maybe?! Nothing nicer than being snuggled up in bed when there's a storm though!

I absolutely love thunderstorms and heavy rain, I always have. While my older sister was hiding under her pillow, I was sitting up giggling. I would get out my trusty flashlight and read a creepy story. Karen

Your poem captures the intensity of thunderstorms in the South, the brief period when everything seems to be hanging by a thread. I go through one or two of them every year down here. Those prospects of tornadoes does keep you honest. Came close a few times. Last year I went through a microburst that tore off the tops of several trees out back. estory

Thank you for your kind review. Yes, we've had a few touch down near us. Fortunately, they were miles away. Not so fortunate for the towns they hit.
