well, Yvette, afraid there's more, after some FSians said I should continue it. I wasn't prepared for this but am giving it a go. Just finished chapter 3 (I think :)
Thank you for your very kind words.

Great job, I enjoyed it and it kept my attention. Kinda with a suspenseful feel to it.
When you start getting into the story line, there is that twist. The story goes in a different direction than you thought. I liked it and you should continue on with it...

I'm sorry this story didn't make it to the contest in time for consideration. You included lots of detailed description for imagery, and realistic dialogue, along with an element of mystery. I enjoyed the read.

Hello Katharine,
what a fascinating story. It sounds like Kate might need to consider buying a firearm and learning to use it, especially if the cheapskate/murderer gets out on bail. I see you're working on a second chapter. I look forward to reading it. I suppose you'll spend Thanksgiving with your daughter? I hope politics doesn't rear it's ugly head and you all can enjoy a pleasant time together. Have a blesse Thanksgiving my friend.

Thanks, Tom!! and for the beautiful 6!!!!
We had a good time. no politics, and no turkey :)
My daughter decided on a change and used an Italian cookbook! We had pork bundles in wine sauce, Roasted asparagus, Italian mashed potatoes (with all kinds of stuff in them (different), and Italian Cream cake. Worked herself to death (I did help; lots of chopping and busy work. Very good, tho. Molto bene! :)
Hope you enjoyed your day, too! Some members of the family, I think you said.
Finished chp 2 of Cheapskate. (may have written myself into a corner :) We'll see.
Bye for now,
Katharine

This is a really good story. Carl was certainly the kind of person who not only got mad, he also got even, and it was just one drink. The woman who had to pay for both their dinners had more reason to be angry, but her anger apparently got her friend murdered.

Carol, many thanks for the lovely 6 and for your very nice comments! Some FSians have suggested that I need to continue with the story, so am working on chapter 2. Hadn't planned on it, but will see what I can come with. Thanks again so much!
Oh, if you mean Kate paying for both Carl and Mildred's dinner? No, she didn't. Wasn't her Tab.
-
I understood Kate didn't have to pay for their dinners. She had to pay for her own dinner and Carl's because he was such a creep.
-
right. just finished Chapter 2.
thanks for reading and commenting!

Great story. I like that you ended it with a question. The justice system works in mysterious ways, you can't be sure if he'll pay the price. The scenario is well set up. Kate had her own experience with Carl, so it was good of her to warn Mildred. This is a chain of events story, with one thing leading to another. Excellent atmosphere with the restaurant. You could probably build on this for a longer story. It has all the elements.

Thanks, Judi, for the lovely 6, and for also thinking it needs to continue I really appreciate it and your
I hadn't planned on expanding on it, but it does kind of seem to be "asking for it." :) thanks again!

So sorry to read you missed the deadline. This would have an excellent chance to win.
Your story is well written and could easily be turned into a book.

Thanks, Richard! Some FSians have suggested I continue on and expand it, so am trying to rethink the plot. I appreciate your kind remarks.

What a shame you left it too late! This was a fabulous story, Adonna! You paced it well, and even the way it went when Carl saw her at the end! I loved that. Very well done, my friend. Warmest hugs, Sandra xx

Thanks so much, Sandra
Some FSians have suggested that I make it longer, so am trying to rethink plot. I need some more characters I think.
Thank you so much for your neat comments!
Happy Thanksgiving to you!!!

I'm glad you didn't give up on this story and file it in the trash. An excellent story that shows justice in a world that is very unjust at times. Well written.

We-ell, some FSians have about talked me into continuing the story, so we shall see. Where does justice finally stand? Though I'm glad you approved.
