A great chapter with Rossi handled in a very satisfying manner. I have to wonder, Carol, how you know how to write mobster scenes so well (big grin)!
Only suggestion, for clarity:
Garth moved toward Rossi, but he jerked away.
(I'd identify 'he'. Structurally sounds like Garth, but I think it's referring to Rossi)
Great job!

It is, but I thought it weird to have Rossi used twice in one sentence. Maybe ...Garth moved forward, but Rossi jerked away. I'll have to go read it in context. Thanks as always for reading another chapter.

This is another excellent chapter. You have so many characters and you use first name, last names and nicknames so I not sure I could bet thought it without you table of contents to refer back to. I think Jack must have a history with Eleanor but I not sure.

Whew! Double wbew! So it seems diamonds ARE a (baby) girl's best friend!
You played this like the pro you are, Carol.
I wasn't aware of how this would go down....but I'm loving a gangster with a heart.
My pulse is racing!
I must move on to the next chapter!

I dropped hints about the diamonds throughout the story but never once indicated it they were in Frankie's hands. Of course, Doyle wasn't going to reveal it since it was his leverage to gain what he wanted in prison.

You got me! I thought Doyle had the diamonds...

Oh that handover was well done, Carol. Rossi thought he was still secure right up until the light bulb hit him in the face. He was too impressed with his own supposed power to notice what was really going down. Well done,
cheers

You do an excellent job of painting the scene as always Carol and I really felt as though I was there. That was very harsh of Vince to say that Jenna's daughter might never know her father. I think I'd have the same reaction as Eleanor. An excellent piece, I enjoyed reading it.

Been busy for a couple of days, not as mad as you but...
Anyway, now catching up and this was excellently done.
Less words for now, as I need to get onto the next :)

I knew that Frank had them! Yay! And Jack learned a valuable lesson that helping friends and being loyal are much more precious than diamonds. I like the gesture of giving one diamond to the baby. Jack really does want to be the "Godfather." Lol

Frank has shown that he is fully done with crime. Lexington has changed. Rossi has been tangled up by his own ruthlessness. I like that he offered a diamond for Margaret. Great chapter. The ends are slowly being threaded together.
Well written

Apparently even a crime kingpin like Jack can do nice things, like the diamond for Margaret, and also smart things, like turn in a loose cannon like Rossi. Frank DiVito has proved he can turn over a new leaf in a really big way with his hospital that has saved many a good person.
