Brilliant alliteration, Karen. I would go a bit mad trying to come up with something such as this, lol. All those H's would throw me into a dyslexic coma. Great work, my friend.
God bless,
Steve

Hi Karen,
poor Herbert,
having to deal with all those buffoons and ingrates. Families can be a challenge for sure, but they can also be a blessing. As for the cartoon, the guy should do what I did and use a shotgun.
Have a blessed evening gal.
Tom

First I get a topic. Unhappy Christmas with relatives, then line my line I know what I want to convey, Then think about how to do it with All H's. Heavy handed humor helps humans harrased by holidays. Karen

We make the mistake all too often of thinking that other people make us sad, mad, or glad. We make us behave and feel as we do. I choose to be happy. I choose to look for the joy on small things. Happy holidays. Karen

The alliteration is quite impressive. I have tried to write an alliterative poem with all the same letters but found that it didn't flow or make sense. Yours flowed and was humorous to boot.

Thanks for the read It is like a big puzzle for me. I have a topic. Line by line I think of what I want to say. I have a huge vocabulary, but if you don't, you can go to your browser and type in adjectives that start with s and so forth. You still have to pick the right word, but more will be at your fingertips. And, the last one I did, "Almost all Alliteration" had articles in it. The, and, or, etc. When I started doing these they were not all the same letter . I worked myself up to this level. I hope this helped. Try again. I rarely pull out my hair now! LOL Karen

I think Herbert needs to understand that a positive outlook helps alleviate negativity. You can't change people you can only change how you respond to them. Gretchen

That is a huge mistake most people make. We can't change them, we can only change us. I can disagree with people. When disagreement becomes protracted, I can wallow in the mess or withdraw. I am a bit sad today. I unmuted a person because of the holidays, and she immediately wrote me to complain and be ugly. I had to re-mute her. I know a few who also muted her. Eventually she will run out of people to manipulate. I do feel sorry for her. What a sad life she must have, to need to do this. But, I must back away from her, I cannot cure her. I do pray for her to find peace. Thanks again for the read. Karen

I wouldn't have believed you could compose a story so well with the letter 'h.' But you've done a great job here with humour and seasonal greetings to boot. Happy Holidays to you too, Karen! Well done! Debbie

I start with the idea, then one sentence at a time I have my ordinary sentence replaces with "H" words that convey it. It is like an expert crossword puzzle.
And It occupies my mind totally. It makes my pain go and hide. WIN WIN Karen

Poor Herbert. I think I divorce myself from that family and let them do their own Christmas. The situation sounds about as hopeless that that poor guy who is going to take care of the scary spider with a flyswat. Your good with the alliterations. I enjoyed it.

I think he would be better off working in a soup kitchen next year. Happy Holidays. Karen

This was a very good use of alliteration, at which you are expert. Too bad Herbert's not enjoying his Christmas, but it's his own fault. Christ, in Heaven, IS the only one who can help him.

Herbert, if you don't mind me saying, let's people walk all over him, and then complains. I know because I made him up. He needs to implement the word no. If all his family can do is be mean to him, he should ditch them and work in a soup kitchen next year. Karen

I need to learn that lesson myself. It's hard for me to say "no".
