This haiku, Insulation, has the proper formatting and suggests that the world can be a cold place, so keep that layering going until warmth wins the day.

I love your creative comparison of the beauty of Autumn and less chilly winds and the icy cold of Winter, and the way both weather conditions determine our mode of dressing. Well presented, dear Karen. Have a lovely week.

Thank you so much. 42% here. Overcast, and pitch dark at 6pm. Autumn wasn't here long enough. Have a great week. Karen

Nice transition from moderate chill of Autumn to that "icy stare" of winter...
I know it's all downhill once my sweater is swapped out for the dreaded coat!

42% here. We rarely get snow. It is pitch dark at 6pm and have no light to speak of until 8:30am. It is mostly overcast all the time. HOHOHO. Finally wrote My Aunt Margaret #5. It was tough. Thanks for the read.

This is a good poem and a thoughtful lead-in to the poem to follow it. Great picture. Do you do the drawing? Something I saw someone else write suggested you are a great artist as you did a lovely picture for her.

Honey bunch, I cannot draw a straight line. Almost all my pictures come from Pinterest. I send stuff from Pinterest to other people when they are stuck sometimes. But I cannot draw at all. But both my boys can. Odd. Thanks for the read. Karen

I like your progression from autumn to winter, from pleasant coolness to "icy" and the change to wearing sweaters to coats.
Suggestion :
Winter brings it's icy stare (its) autocorrect tends to change to the apostrophe in this case

I love the presentation : ) Good syllables count. Think you for participation in our Book of Renga.
I have a suggestion.
The previous 7/7 verse is clearly winter so your 5/7/5 stanza should follow the same season, winter.
your stanza now is:
Enjoying Autumn (enjoying is a present verb, it should be past tense (enjoyed)
Winter brings its icy stare (okay)
Sweaters become coats (sweaters become coats personifies 'sweater'
because you us the 'become' verb because it's not a person
you can change it to something like this:
I enjoyed autumn
now winter brings icy stare
from sweaters to coats
Good job,
gypsy

Damn, woman, it seems to be cold about everywhere, and since it's cold in Florida, I'm guessing, it's cold in Texas too. We've been in the teens and single digits all week. And now, they say it's going to be in near 60 tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

It was cold today I would guess 50's sweater weather for me. But, I hate that it is pitch black at 6pm. I am nesting and writing little right now. Karen
-
Yes, I noticed I hadn't seen much of you all week. Keep warm!
-
You miss me, I am blushing! It's in the 40's here. We are up and down here, and mostly overcast. My heating blanket keeps busy. Keep warm sweetie pie. Karen
-
Why of course I do when you disappear! Stay warm yourself!
-
Okay Handsome. :-)

I like these Renga poems and you certainly seem to be getting into the swing of them. It's fun collaborating with others, a kind of virtual bonding. Great imagery with the "icy stare" and perfect visual to complement your verse. Well done, Karen! Debbie

You can double down on tht last line. This past week, it's been near impossible to venture outside without a jacket or coat. Autumn, why did you have to leave us?

Autumn is my favorite and winter my least favorite. My sisters took me to the library book sale. For $10 they hand you a brown grocery bag, you can fill it up with Video's c.d's paper backs., hatdbacks, Books on Tape, etc, I got about a dozen DVD's, and about 60
paperbacks. I filled my bad and half of hers! A good day. It only took 20 minutes once we got in All 3 of us were looking. My feet are doing a happy dance. Love you sweetie. Do you need me to send you some? Karen
-
Thank you so much for the thought but before my wife died, I accumulated literally thousands of DVDS plus books. My niece stepped in and helped sell our house. She took all my DVDs nd put them neatly in volumes. She brings me a set now and then and they get all out of order again.
-
My sister Tammy gave away a lot of my stuff without asking. She thought she was doing me a favor. She was not. But I am aware that she was doing her best. But I miss my "Kung Fu Panda". And "Babylon 5". :-(
-
Sorry. I have tons of sci-fi but not those.
-
You can watch Babylon 5 free on TUBI.
That;s where I watched all of Columbo. Karen
-
Oh! Columbo! My wife and I used to watch them together. I remember one episode gave me a craving for pecorino romano.
-
I always want chili! :-)
