“Sparkle”
Brilliant glow of everlasting light
Colorful rainbows shining bright
Daydreams of new ideas in flight
Soaring high to the highest height
For you will never cease to sparkle
Shining like peaceful moonbeams
On seas of heartwarming dreams
Life’s hopes within forever gleam
Of life and love enduring themes
For you will never cease to sparkle
Glisten like the sun in a golden sky
A subtle twinkle in her inviting eye
Mirror feelings of joy deep inside
Beguiling all who quietly pass by
For you will never cease to sparkle
A kindhearted spirit who truly cares
Sharing a world with someone dear
With a heart full of delight and tears
And faith to follow all of your years
For you will never cease to sparkle
And through all of life’s many trials
In the darkest moments of self-denial
To the heights of happiness revival
Times quest to quell her bright smile
For you will never cease to sparkle

Oyyy. I am literally sitting here crying like a child. No WONDER this took first place! There could not have been anything even CLOSE to how exquisite this is. You worked your ever-burgeoning magic into this tale with aplomb and panache and set the bar sky-high.
I didn't even mind that I fell into your trap of thinking these two had nothing in common whatsoever except that they both loved that house and enjoyed beach life. When the reality hit of who they were to each other, that, of course, was when the tears began. And they did not let up once I read, "I know, Daddy."
What a talent you are, Jess, and you just keep getting better and more amazing with each post. Proud to say I know you. xoxox

Wow! I was so deep into this, Jessica, that it felt incredibly real. My heart ached for them both, and then to find out they were father and daughter. Brilliantly crafted, Young Lady. I can see why this won. Congrats.
God bless,
Steve

I admit I began reading this with my usual skepticism. Dialogue-only pieces tend to bottom out after a paragraph or so. This one was a welcome surprise. I watched my mom fall into the dark well of Alzheimer's. It's a most cruel disease, both for the victim, and the loved ones that stand alongside. Well done, Jessica.

Hi Jessica,
You've written an excellent "dialogue only" story with a heartwarming message to do your best in life, and the rewards will pay off in the end. You created a strong atmosphere and connection with the white deck and the bench by the sea. Congratulations on your win.

I kind of thought I was losing it for a moment there as your story took that unexpected turn. Very well written. I could almost see the old man and the young lady sitting on that bench watching the water. Growing old is so hard for some (probably most). Good job!

This is a top effort. Great concept with a surprise at the end. The dialogue is entertaining, and it retains the reader's interest. Difficult to do especially in a rather long piece. Well done. Congratulations on the win.
Take care
