Thanks so much for sharing your journey. I like the honesty and hope you so eloquently portray in your poem. I especially resonated with the climbing into a hole searching for my lonesome soul. it gets dark in there. Your writing is uplifting. Esther

Hi Jesse
I'm still in the rehab hospital and it is not conducive to writing on a cell phone. I am at the mercy of the microphone and all the errors it makes.
But I did see this one by you continuing your journey and reflection of your life. I don't think I'll have time to write about my life. It's coming to an end very soon.
But I admire you being able to open yourself up to everyone on this site and I wish you the best in your journey

Thanks, Pam, but don't give up hope yet. Use your muscles to tone your body and make the best of rehab. Honesty is my watchword and I live by it. Thanks for checking in.
Try to enjoy the week ahead.

Every day is a journey, Jesse, for no one know what is to come. Yet, no matter what life throws at you, you never give up you keep going forward. So, ride on my friend, meet the next day with a grin and never surrender. Thank you for sharing.

I agree. We can all use the new year to cultivate better relationships and search or self-examine our heart and attitude to adjust and plant seeds in good ground producing a life of fruit. Exceedingly fruitful. I really liked the smooth approach here.

Hi Jesse J,
I'm always going to applaud those who seek to be better than what they might have been yesterday. We are all on a journey of discovering who we are, but more importantly, who we wish to become. Unfortunately, some know and are dissatisfied with who they are and don't, or want to put the effort in. The growth is in the acknowledgment, seeking and implementing the strategies to be the best version of oneself... yes, you are most definitely on that journey Jesse!
Love your candour and to the direction you are headed... kudos!
Great rhyming poem with a formula to success... well written my friend.
With our thoughts we create...
our authentic selves.
Kindest regards,
James.

This is very nice. We should strive to be the person we really want to be. That is true freedom, or that's how I see it.
notes:
I recommend looking at this stanza again. It is not formatted with the same rhyme scheme as the others. But it can be.
I used to climb into a hole
searching for a lonesome soul
taking not giving was my creed
running on an insatiable need

Thanks, Lance, but I will keep it just the way it is. I call it poetic freedom.

It's nice to hear that you have achieved or are in the process of achieving wholeness and peace. That's so important for physical healing. I think I told you about my Uncle and his mobility challenges before. Finding peace within himself by connecting with the Creator has made a difference in his wellness journey. Continue to be well. Thanks for sharing.

Great poem full of confidence and strength. Keep following that path and good things will come to you. If you have kindness and love emanating from you, your life will be complete. Nicely done

Hey Jesse, this is an excellent poem that speaks of wonderful personal growth. There are so many that grow up with an entitlement mentality and never achieve an extra Quetion from this very harmful mindset. Thank you for sharing how you feel better yourself and your hope and expectation for the future. I don't know for sure but I think I sensed a little bit of God coming into this, L O L. I know God does stuff like that!

Nothin like illness and restricted living to whittle you down to basics. I have been in I'll health of one kind of another most of my life. I have watched people and learned from an early age. I was lucky in that. Sure, I can get selfish on occasion, I am human, as far as I know, but caring for others is always more rewarding than simply worrying about yourself. That can be an empty bottomless pit. I am glad you are not that way. And I am praying for your next surgery. Karen

That is one way to look at it. Another is to believe in your personal growth so much that everything you do compares to how you once were. I am much better now than before.
Thanks for your prayers for my next surgery.
