Great description of the owl as a night creature. And, since it's renga, it has another part. I am not sure why owls suggest chilliness, but maybe because they are a haunting animal for most people.

I could hear the hoot of the owl as I was reading your piece. It's been really chilly where I am in the UK this week so this was the perfect time to read this. An excellent descriptive piece, Ulla, I enjoyed reading it.

This two-line poem, Winter's Night, has the proper formatting and finds the cooling night bird seeking a perch to both stay warm and seek out a midnight snack.

What a beautiful couplet to write the arrival of a lonely hoots that is my favorite animal. They are so majestic and graceful. I also like the waterr color you used here.

Well done.

Those night-time sounds can sound so eerie this time of year and your well-crafted 7-7 Renga poem, beautifully complemented with the visual, certainly transmits a chilling tone. Well done, Ulla. Take care Debbie

I think snow owls are beautiful. They are so interesting and good hunters ans provide for their young as well. I have seen them in action. You have captured the moment. Thank you.

This is a haunting good poem for the renga book, Ulla. I often wonder how the creatures survive the winter's cold, especially at night. It's cold in Florida!
Sending you my very best across the way.

Hola, Ulla,

I am happy you contributed to the Renga Book. It's an excellent chapter. Beautiful presentation and imagery. Good syllables and connection between lines. Please add the rules to your author notes :) Gracias guapa!

It's very important to link the renga 5/7/5 to the 7/7

The previous 5/7/5 verse:

Lovely butterfly
red creature flying boldly
On beautiful wings
==================
your 7/7 verse:

a deceptive winter chill
brings lonely hoots through the night

HOW TO WRITE A RENGA POEM:

It's very important to LINK your Renga stanza to the previous stanza keeping the same theme and season of the year.

First copy and paste this link to your browser to check the Renga Book. Your chapter will follow the last chapter: fanstory.com/chapterdetails.jsp?id=42337

FIRST POET - starts with a three-line haiku 5/7/5 that sets the theme and season of the year.

THE SECOND POET writes a 7/7 stanza that links to the previous 5/7/5 chapter with the same theme and season of the year.

This pattern (5/7/5 stanza followed by a 7/7 stanza) continues on and on. Some renga books can be 100 stanzas or more.

To post your chapter, scroll down the renga poem page you are reading. Above the review box click on ADD CHAPTER.
