This is very good. I've already skipped and read the ending, couldn't wait. You have a good rhyme scheme. I do wonder about some lines seemingly written in present tense, and some is past tense.

You are correct. In some places, there is a past tense because the event happened in the past, but in other cases, it could be either the past tense or the present chance because it could've already happened. I guess it depends on what part of time you're in.

But the later usage of past tense starting with the killer being convicted could've been present tense as well. Thank you for pointing that out and for the wonderful review.

Great post about the way Detective Mike Brady solves the Kirby case.

I read this chapter out of place but I understand how they link.

Poor victims and their families. The family suffers and can't find peace until the victim is found... such a sad thing.

As I said before, I enjoy crime stories but the non-fictional are hard to read.

Well done

Gypsy

Yes, only a matter of time. Everything ,good or bad will surface no matter the time table. A promise written in the Holy Bible. Good detective work. Glad there is closure.

Hi Charles, I am a brand new Christian became one about a year and a half ago and I feel very comfortable with God and with Jesus. I am severely disabled and I have to worship by myself, but I can feel the love from up above.

Thanks for giving me the love of generous ratings like this so often. It helps build my confidence.

I really liked how your story captures the intensity of the investigation. The flow in your lines make it easy to follow. I loved the way you set the tone with the anger of the mob. The details like "Chen's size ten so rare" and the way the killer is described really pulls me into the story. Your story is very interesting. Great job!

While I can understand the family's anger and rage, I cannot under any circumstance condone mob violence. I am still sickened by the images of lynch mob violence against some victims who's only crime was being the wrong color. Taking away vengeance from God who's commandment was to allow Him the ultimate Judge, to render justice is actually a sin. Is never advisable.

I cannot agree with you more about not only mob violence but lynchings in general

I'm pretty sure it still goes on maybe not with a rope although I'm pretty sure that goes on as well

My husband was a civil rights worker 1965 called freedom summer and they called themselves freedom fighters. Not only did white people want to kill the Black people. They wanted to kill him too because he was a white person trying to upset the status quo of Jim Crow

I wanted so much to become a freedom fighter, but I was only 12 years old

My husband's job was to integrate restaurants and register black people to vote. When the whites refused to integrate the restaurant or refused to allow Black people to register to vote., My husband's job was to call lawyers in Atlanta so they could file suit against those restaurants and against those clerks

Thank you for your wonderful review

I had the unique experience of eating in an all white restaurant in 1961 in Oklahoma City. While I had to eat in the kitchen. I was able to eat there. This whole incident is recounted in my yet to be complete autobiography as yet unnamed.

Got him!
And justice is served as I am sure his sentence of life without parole will mean he dies without ever being free to kill again.
The team did well to catch him

I'm glad they've caught the killer, but sorry that it means your story will be coming to an end. You've done an amazing job.

I know you said you've gotten lots of input and suggestions, and I want to stick my two cents in as well to let you know what might have made this even more enjoyable to me. I would have liked to have known more about the killer in advance. When you have the chance to develop an opinion--good or bad--about a character, it leads to more of an emotional connection and, thus, a more emotional reaction when you find out he's the guilty party. Again, just my two cents. Overall, you've written a great story.

Thank you Michelle for your suggestion. I have to admit I got tired towards the end. I could also have expanded on the pod boss maybe having a daughter who was the victim of the serial killer because inmates usually don't go after another inmate unless they're pedophile.

It's OK to kill women, but not children. An 18-year-old is a woman, but a 17-year-old is a child.

Right now. I can't see anything that's right in front of my face so I'm going to have to stop responding to reviews for a little while. I hope you're having a good new year.

I understand, since you weren't trying to write a novel, that you just had to stop at some point, especially with the physical issues you were dealing with. Might a few more details have made this even better? Who knows? The point is that you certainly did a great job with what you had.

No problem if you can't respond for a while. The important thing is to take care of yourself and do what you can to improve your health. Everything else can wait.

oops. I read this one out of order but that's ok. You certainly wrote a believeable tale with so much information to keep track of. Not easy. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Marilyn. Yes it is really hard to keep track of what has already been written and to make sure you do not go astray from that.

    Thanks for this great review

Wow. I never thought a poem in story, I think a true one, would have me hooked. I'm glad I dipped down to this one. I'm definitely hooked to read on to the last one. The poem flowed as if seamless.

One of the things that will keep prisoners from being killed by fellow inmates, is confining them in protective custody, my wife visits a friend who is in prison, a woman who is a pedophile is in protective custody, to keep them from harm. But beautifully written Pam, blessings Rou
