Jesse, I keep praying and trusting that the Lord is in control. He sees all, hears all and knows all. Somethings have been good, some not so good. Thank you for caring my friend! Blessings, teri

Someone has got to care, Teri, and I choose that someone to be me.
I don't see much good here from the present administration but thanks for trying to keep it light.
    Thanks for the blessings.

This is an important piece, hopeful and instructive! I can see resistance growing in obvious ways, it is so encouraging! Yeah for this wonderful prose, may it help many, it has that potential! Maddy

Thank you Jesse for writing this. I am so concerned for what is happening in the white house. It is so negative, depressing and gives a bleak outlook to the future. Your story lifted me up and is so positive. I enjoyed reading it. It is well written and so heartfelt. Thank you again. Your friend, Brenda

This is excellent advice, Jesse. I'm lucky in that the people I love most all share my political views, so we can all commiserate.

I have to admit that, when I saw the news of immigrants being shackled and herded out in droves, I cried. It's not that I'm in favor of illegal immigration. I do think people should go through the proper channels. But sometimes situations are such that they can't. Besides, in most cases, these are just people looking for a better life for themselves and their families. There must be more humane ways of dealing with the immigration crisis than treating frightened, struggling people like cattle.

My daughter, who fits into some of the groups our "esteemed leaders" are targeting, is scared for herself and her friends. I keep reminding her that, no matter how much He Who Shall Remain Nameless has eroded it, this is still a democracy, and the courts have already shown that he can't just sign executive orders and not expect a fight. I'm relieved to know that there are still a few people in the judicial branch with a sense of honor and integrity.

Hello Michele. Thank you for stating your beliefs so succinctly, I appreciate your candor. People like me and your daughter are living in dangerous times. We need to stick together and be as one for each other. The Supreme Court is divided among themselves and I fear they may choose unwisely to dictate the more conservative notion of doing away with certain people in favor of others who have more money and power. Maybe I am wrong. I hope I am wrong.
The balance of powers between the courts, the Congress, and the White House is in danger of being abused in favor of the rich and powerful.
I will breathe a sigh of relief when this is over and our democracy is safe.
Thanks for hearing me out. We need to stick together.
    Take care, my friend.

Believe me, I am totally on your side in this. When I first heard the election results, I was so ashamed of my country. Then I realized some 750 million people voted against him. I can be angry at the more than 750 million who voted for him, but I can’t paint the entire country with the same brush. 750 million voted against him. More will see the error of their ways as time progresses. Our time will come. The sad part is that so much more s—t will have to be undone by the time it does.

You as well. I can’t speak for the country, but WE will survive!

Yes, we will. Let's hope that, for our sake, the country will survive as well.

I appreciate your notes and the topic of this piece which is very important. I like how you let people know we are in this together, and will offer help. It is easy to despair, and think of all the time ahead we have with this situation in the White House.

You have some good ideas about writing to congressmen. A very good conclusion, as well.
I like your comment in the notes, "We care and we are one."

We are very lucky in NJ to have a very good person as our Senator. He used to be our Congressman, but he ran for the Senate. He couldn't stand the dynamics that were existing there so at least we have him on everyone's side, not just NJ. He cares about people. He is the first Korean American to hold this office. I thought you would appreciate hearing that, Jesse.
Keep up the good work on this site! You're doing a great job, my friend.

Thanks, Pam, for the six stars and wonderfully compassionate review.
I appreciate you sharing about the Senator from New Jersey who is the first Korean American to hold office. I love that he cares about all of us and is on everyone's side.
Thank you, my friend, for all the encouragement for writing on this site. I will continue to fight the good fight and write for justice and freedom for all.
    Take care,

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Jesse. I am glad you liked the information about our senator. If we only had more like him and others with a similar attitude. I am glad you will continue on to "fight the good fight."

Know the truth and the truth will set you free. There is strength in numbers. I'm sure he bought his way into the White House. A leopard doesn't change his spots. Now he is showing he needs to be God? Said god saved him so he could be president? God was out playing golf. One thing this fool can't corrupt, is the love of the people for their country. K xx

Well, Jesse, you are a very compassionate person. I can't I understand everything you write, nothing is specific here besides an emotion. But, as always you are entitled to share your opinion, and I think calls for empathy and caring will always be appreciated on FanStory. Yes, Isolation can be hard on people. What that has to do with someone in the White House, I don't know. I don't think the president is locking people alone in their homes or making them isolate themselves, but I could be wrong.

I do many people say their rights are in jeopardy, yet they can never articulate what those rights are. And they say the same about our democracy, even though America is a Republic, not a democracy.

Oh, well. What I mean is please do not let politics take anything from your enjoyment of life. You are the master of your fate, not anyone in the White House.

Yes, Lance, I am the captain of my fate and the master of my soul.
We can agree on that at least. I am concerned for my fellow human beings who are isolated because they are not happy with what is going on in the White House. Nothing more and nothing less.

Lately I think politics is the deal breaker and turns the entire population against each other. No matte who comes in power there is going to winners and losers, and chaos and anarchy/

Let us agree to disagree on this one. In my opinion, we are in a state of chaos and anarchy because of our latest president. There are few winners and many losers in this country.

This is a very good message to get out and stay involved no matter how despondent you might be.

There is lots that can be done and all the while keeping an open mind that everything is not as bad as it might seem.

Much enjoyed Jesse. :)

Thanks, Gloria, for the six stars, and the vision to see, that we need to keep active and fighting no matter what. Keeping an open mind is always a good idea...but make no mistake, we are in a war zone when it comes to what may happen to our country.
I am glad you enjoyed this essay.
    Take care, my friend.
