This is a beautiful poem. You are correct there is nothing better than watching the sun rise and listening to all the birds sing their hearts out until they are content. Your poem did capture the essence of what you were trying to say. The picture compliments the poem quite nicely.

A short two line poem can seem a simple task, Peter.
Yet it is seldom that.
Finding the right subject is just part of it, you then have to capture the essence of the subject in a tiny space.
I can easily write a sonnet or long poem extolling the sunrise, doing it in two lines and maintaining the impact is a tough job and here, well done.

The rising sun awakens the avian early risers, and thus, the dawn chorus starts. Magical.

A beautiful vision you've created here, Peter.... I would simply suggest the removal of all but the first comma as the rest are not necessary in this short form and actually takes away from the natural flow of the beauty you are creating... Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;)
