Thank you for listening to the Spirit to be His scribe, wielding your pen to share the truth of His Word, that double-edged sword that pierces between soul and spirit.
I especially liked:
"Time's pen has written life and death,
recorded how Christ drew life's breath.
Oh yes, the pen rephrased sword's wrath,"
And Christ had taken the judgment for man's sins and is our Song and Salvation!

Oh yes, the pen rephrased sword's wrath...fatal gaff. So strong and great flow.
And
A gift to wield the pen. LOVE the way that sounds.
In the Beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS God. Isn't that incredible to think of?
Great job!!!

A word can uplift or it can criticise and words can be used to destroy or create, the choice is always ours. Once the sword has been used, the deed is done and forgiveness is then out of our hands. Many think that believing in faith will save them from their evil deeds, but it won't, a poignant post Roy, Love Dolly x x x

As the renowned former slave trader said in his hymn, 'amazing grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me" thanks so much Dolly, blessings Roy

This is so well written. The idea of the pen "cleaving the soul" and "playing Spirit's chord" is really powerful. For me this suggests that words have a far reaching impact that even swords cannot match. The historical references work so well. Thank you for sharing this!

Wow! Another powerful Roy poem about our Saviour! Thanks for sharing this one Roy. I truly enjoyed reading it and I truly believe that about the sword as well. As a true believer, one does believe this. Keep up the excellent work. The sword photo was awesome too!

An interesting comparison and contrast between the sword and the pen and yet the written word, when it is Scripture is mightier than any sword. Thanks for sharing your thoughtful poem.

Yes, the pen is mightier than the sword. As you stated, where the sword brings death, the pen brings light. The sword has not done anything to bring forth new life but has caused devastation. The sword has destroyed some civilizations, whereas the words from writers' pens have survived through the ages. Wonderful presentation. Excellent rhyme and flow, and the subject is one of concern to us all, as mankind continues to pursue war. jud

Roy,
This is a beautiful poem and so full of truth. The pen can be mightier than the sword. Jesus life was penned for all to read and to know him and the truth.
Well done my friend
