This was a great write for this 'Power of You" contest, Carol showing the person, seen by others, but she also sees the one inside, the hidden her. Well done and good luck in the contest,
cheers

This is an excellent story.I believe what you are saying is the mother's strong memory of what her mother would say. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

This is an eerie post as we know ourselves too well and know how we will behave in certain situations and we cannot escape our own flaws, a poignant post lCarol, love Dolly x x x

You did a great job with the challenge of confronting oneself with the truth. I liked how you made it seem like a stranger but gradually we realize that the stranger knows too much! Best wishes in the contest!

A very compelling story - and no, she cannot flee from herself and her grief. She will return, time and again. Lots of vivid description in this moving story, which many of us will relate to. Best wishes for the contest - a winner, I think.

This is an interesting story of someone who is haunted by the person she wishes she was instead of the person seeking to vanish like she is. Empowering yourself is probably the hardest thing there is to do.

Carol,

This is a great flash fiction story. I like how you carry on a dialogue between the two even though it's only one person.

Well done my friend and good luck in the contest

Cecilia

I love this story dear Carol, sometimes, whether in the flesh, or not, we keep grieving, even though in a sense it's quite definitely in the past, we know by living there we cannot change it, so why keep living there? Yet so many people do, grieve and let go, perhaps hope is in the future? Beautifully wrutten Carol, blessings Roy

I knew immediately what was going on in this story. It was about me and my mother. I looked so much like her with the same temperament as her. I was only 38 when she left me. I had two younger sisters, but my mother and I were so close, she was mine. Her picture hangs in my bedroom and I still talk to her, many years later.

This story was triggering. How did you know someone out there felt exactly like your protagonist? Best wishes in the contest.

Sometimes, especially lately, I have been the protagonist and struggled with all the emotions that came with it. I thank you for all your kindness and generosity with the stars. You should talk to all those who have left ....I know I do and often find better answers than from those who are still here on this Earth. Thank you so much.
    Hugs, Carol
