Your poem is nice about squawking. Squawking is done by other living creatures other than human beings.
You have the right amount of syllables and
picture is nice.
Good luck with your Lowku poem.

Wow! That is a format I do not know. I have not heard of a Lowku poem. I enjoyed this short and sweet poem about the Banshees though. The photo is cool too! Keep up the great work!

Banshees is the perfect title for your Lowku about arguing sisters. Based on Irish folklore, Banshees are supernatural wailing women.

Your Lowku follows the guidelines exactly, from syllable count to subject material. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you for confirming the banshee's meaning and for the encouraging review. Fortunately, the Irish get a lot of things right; I have a little Irish blood in me.

I just saw a really neat mini documentary on hummingbirds at a film festival last night, with incredible hyper-detailed slow motion of them in flight. Maybe that's the same source your pictures came from too.

This looks like a good contest entry, and it's cute enough to attract some of the voters who don't like the more gnarly entries. I just suggest increasing your font size, as those same voters are more likely to have vision issues. A bit more attention to your overall presentation could make you competitive. I'm in this contest too so I'll leave it at that, as I don't want to help you TOO much, hahaha.

Good luck and best regards,

🦍

Thanks, Dolly. I wish they would move but our closest neighbours tell tales of previous annoyances. Ah well their fighting drowns out the noise from the railway!

You really nail the tone with this one-it's got that perfect mix of disgust and comic exaggeration. The phrase "banshees squawking like chickens" is brilliantly vivid and ridiculous in all the right ways, striking an image that's both hilarious and all too relatable.
The final line lands with a knowing punch: "the sisters next door." That sudden shift from the mythical to the mundane is what makes it work so well. You let us laugh, but also wince-because who hasn't had neighbours like that?

The "banshees squawking like chickens" really stood out to me - it's funny and adds tension. I love how you use sound to bring the scene to life. And the sisters next door feel like they're about to burst through the walls! I really enjoyed this!

Michael, imagine it in Vietnamese. I have worked with Vietnamese people, and I love them by and large. However, we live and learn...to ignore them Glad you enjoyed it
