Such an uplifting and positive poem. The. poem is well written and descriptive. I like the way you set up the poem. Using Faith in each section was a good idea. God has helped me so much. I can't imagine my life without him.

I can't either, Brenda. As a child therapist, I specialized in counseling children with a terminal illness. I could not have done it if I didn't know that God was beside me. Thanks for the review. -Bill

Powerful and beautifully stated. The messages you present are simple, straightforward and for eternity. How you presented then made them attainable through hope and faith. Very well done. Good luck in the contest.

Now that the contest is over I can identify myself. Thank you for seeing the "path" I was taking. And the six! Now that caught me off guard. Again, thank you! -Bill Stephenson1

You are more than welcome, deserving. Thank you!

My first thought on reading this was, which Gospel writer wrote it. Was it Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.
A really powerful write. And a poignant message we can all learn from.

I like your attitude. It's probably closer the John's understanding. But I don't want to be flippant with this six. And thank you for it. The contest is over. -Bill Stephenson1

You are certainly right. You cannot ram faith down someone's throat. You show by example. I believe that faith is in all of us whether we use it or not. The simple acceptance is hard for some to fathom. But with faith, we can overcome a lot of life's travails. Faith manages. Karen

Hello Poet!
You have turned what could have been generically defined into an extremely personal
exclamation of your convictions and beliefs in this free verse poem.
Good luck in this contest.

I love your explanation of what Faith
means...and the way you broke it down...
Faith is not something you are forced to
have...having Faith in God is your choice...
but it all comes down to if you truly believe
in him...
I love your poem very well written...love Linda xxoo

This is an interesting take on the 'repent' motif. Here, instead of focusing on the damning point, you focus on the hopeful point of becoming a new person, with all those wide open possibilities, and a celebration of the freedom of forgiveness. It's an important point. Too many people I think focus on this sense that they can't live up to the expectations of God. Those expectations remain in perfection, as Jesus suggested with his commentary to the disciples on the three people who turned away when they sought his ministry because they could not leave behind certain aspects of their life. The disciples told Jesus, 'Then who can be saved?" Jesus answered: "With man it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible." That's what you have to focus on. God can reconstitute that camel on the other side of the needle's eye. estory

As I see it, we all have the freedom of looking at things and thinking our thoughts in our own way. Whatever helps each person must be a good thing. So you have your way, and that is good . All the best of luck. Ulla:)))

Thanks Ulla. This was a good message from you.

This is a very timely and heartwarming poem. And it should do quite well in the "My Faith" prompt. I agree with your first 2 stanzas. Make it less about past transgressions and guilt (we all have those) and more about a better today and tomorrow. Great job!

We can't undo the past but we can shape the future.

I really love how your poem takes the idea of "repentance" from something heavy into something hopeful. Your message of faith is beautiful and uplifting. I love you describe faith as putting a "Yes!" on your face. It's such a positive way to look at things!
