I worded in the school system for more than twenty years and I can't imagine tormenting a child like that under any circumstances. Your poor son was to young to even express the reasons for his misery. Thank goodness you had the insight to have your daughter check to see what was really going on. I hope someone brought these kinds of things to the attention of authorities for the sake of others. Well done. Goo luck in the contest.

Thank you Mary. This isn't a contest. It is just a reposting for a story of my life with children I hope to get into print for them. This is just one of the incidents we needed to find a solution for.

Well my friend, drama and pretentious psychology don't go well together, they are in contradiction. I like your down to earth choice of the last daycare: "It took a few days of searching, but I finally found another nursery. This was a Catholic run daycare. The atmosphere here was relaxed, and children were allowed to be children. The workers were warm and caring. The priest played games with the kids and made balloon animals for them. Don didn't have any more accidents. Each day, my children came home excited. They told me how much fun they were having with Father John" Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Poor Don! What a terrible experienced for him! It's good the Carol could be your spy and report to you what Don couldn't express in words yet. So glad you could find another daycare!

Thank you Helen. I appreciate your review and comments. I guess there are always problems we are faced with as parents and we do our best to solve them. Usually things work out.

This is a sad and infuriating story, Beth. How can a young woman, who has the opportunity to do great things with these children, and has a degree in psychology, not know that all children are alike, and can't recognize when they are struggling? Unbelievable! You were smart to ask Carol to watch what was happening. I'm happy you found somewhere much better for them. This is very well written.

Yes, a little, and many times, a lot of learning can cause problems. As I've heard and said many times, people are many times educated well past their intelligence. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

It's so true...we scour the advertisements, ask friends for suggestions, read reviews, hoping to find the safest and best place for our children and their daycare. Unfortunately, they have well kept secrets and they are seldom exposed to most. That was so sad for Don, but I am thrilled you kept at it till you found the problem.

Hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol. It was very hard to find child care that we felt the kids were really safe with. Christi got hepatitis at the first child care we tried and Don had problems at the next one.

Hi Beth, this just so well written and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Not that
I enjoyed reading about poor Don's problems. I'm so glad you came to the bottom of it with Carol's help. Far too much pressure was put on the poor kids. I'm so glad you found the right place for them.
At one point you wrote Miss Psychology/drama mor = major. All best, Ulla:)))

In my first year of school, I was placed in a Catholic school. I too had Don's problem but I was scared of the teachers who wore white bonnets and long black robes. She wanted me to go to mass with others and learn their religion. Me being none Catholic, my mother was serious and took me out. So yes. I can relate to this story with Don. She would spank me in the hand with a ruler. Kids can be just like you mentioned. Good for you. Glad you took them out of that place.

Here is another one that I haven't answered. I'm so far behind. I'm glad I didn't have to go to a Catholic school. In fact I never knew but one Catholic family to ever live in Newton. They didn't even have a church. It was Baptist country with a few Methodists and Presbyterians scattered about. You know I'm delighted with the stars.

I had to send my son to a daycare that is quite expensive but it was in the neighborhood and he had friends there. All his friends ended up went to the same school all the way to the end of high school. My son turned out to be very good person and a successful media artist in California. I feel relieved.

Well done.

Sometimes you get what you pay for so If they were really good it was worth the money to have the right people dealing with your children. Thank you so much for the review.
