This rather long poem tells the story of your search for a faith to believe in. You end up saying you are a paptist. I think you meant a Baptist, didn't you? Anyway, this sounds like a journey close to mine where I found myself and then lost myself again only to find myself for the hopefully last time.
Keep the faith alive.

Thanks for reading this long poem. No I meant papist. It means follower of the pope.

Dragon Poet probably knows it, but he never has a hard time finding a good rhyme. She can rhyme beetle with needle, and purgatory with nugatory. Fish with kisch, and hurrah with no bra. She's certainly not myopic, And she puts her rhyming gifts to use with a sometimes devastating but entertaining topic - religion! Which poets should really shun, but she says her piece and she makes it fun. I'm outta 6s.

Hello, Joan!
Your poetic faith journey resonated with me, for I, too, found myself in similar situations having been baptized Catholic, attending a parochial elementary school for eight years, and marrying in the Catholic Church nearly 45 years ago.
And yet, I love and embrace all religions, I would have to say.
I tell people that I'm Catholic... with a little "c."
Much enjoyed... especially the debate about whether to wear jeans or a dress to church! Oh! The horror of wearing jeans!
Thank you for sharing!
Happy Easter!
Fondly,
diane

A lovely, deeply honest account of your spiritual journey through to the present: the unavoidable ups and down and everything in between. At the end of the day, the choice has been uniquely yours and that is so inspiring to read. Because you sound happy and fulfilled. Well done and good luck! Debbie

We are born with a hole in our heart that only God can fill. We may try to ignore it, but it will always be there. I am glad you returned to your worship services. This is an excellent Faith Poemy telling of your personal journey. Smiles, Lily

You have had quite a journey to get to the faith that you are comfortable with Joan, and hopefully that wraps around you when needed. Quite a journey you have had to get there, thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

This is a typical poem about your continual conversion, about searching faith in religion and practices, how you enjoyed your childhood to youth days, learnt religion, attending philosophies at churches, and commune; well said, well done, post god speed more, share post not 4 self-joy-pride but 4 God and readers worldwide Alcreator Litt Dear (DR)

Thank you for letting us into your life here and your religious journey through life from school to adulthood, it sounds like fear trained you at the beginning as is the Catholic way, at least you chose for yourself in the end and went back to your roots, a fine write, love Dolly x
