That's the best outcome of sending an email before reading it! I guess it was sent to Jack. I hope Mandy is Jack's type and that come-on letter didn't give the wrong impression! Congratulations on another win!!

Seemed to be hitting it off quite well for a starter, I guess. I put them together and it's their obligation to see where it goes...lol It's a chapter not a book. Smiles, Carol

Interesting story you have written here. Mistaken identity. Don't think I want to be either of those women. I was away for a week and a half and so am trying to get caught up on here.

This is funny, Carol! If I were Mandy, and she seems very timid, I could never take responsibility for such a letter, let alone accept a dinner date with him. But that will change Carol's tune. Well done.

It was her mistake and regardless of the consequences she stepped up and admitted it. Of course, she hadn't expected quite the response she got from her boss. LOL One can never tell where the story may go. Smiles, Carol

It's always nice when a not-so well laid plan falls into place for a good gal for a change. Which leads us to believe that just maybe Mandy should have been sending a few letters on her own for a while. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

If there's a contest for the most contest wins by a single writer I think you may have it in the bag! You stun me with your seemingly never ending ability to think up new scenarios and clever plot lines and execute them perfectly!
way to turn the letter prompt on its head!

I must have been in my prime of writing back then or just really lucky... I joined FanStory without a full year and won Short Story Writer. I was stunned! Wish I had all those followers now, but I am grateful for those I do have. I think we had better contests too and they weren't all blind ones. I enter but rearely are they read by many now. A waste of time... Not because I don't win, but because I like my stories to be read. Smiles and thank yous...Carol

What is UP with THAT?! I would think you fan base would be two hundred and counting! Amazing feat to win Short Story Writer with less than a year under your belt! Guess you're going to start believing you're as good as we who love your writing SAY you are! (BELIEVE IT!)---Karenina

Ingenious! The punchline is priceless--my imagination runs wild with what might ensue. A point of confusion--is Jack the new guy (no name given) or the old boss? If the latter, why would Susan be sending that racy message to him?

Always leave the reader guessing and wanting more.... I don't remember since it was ten years ago and sometimes I can't recall yesterday, but I assume it was just a thought that jumped into my head. Glad you enjoyed it. Smiles, Carol

What an excellent read, the girl owns up to what she had done though by mistake, the last line is wonderful and describes what your story tells, very well written and a deserved winner****kahpot

What a delightful twist at the end of the story. Mandy gets the guy because she was trying to do the right thing and take responsibility for a mistake she had made. By attempting to protect Susan from embarrassment, Mandy wins the prize. Great story about a letter.

It serves Susan right.indeed, some girls are very sure of themselves, but then one can get pretty narcissistic men also, I was never one of those, but o was always surprised when girls would go out with me. Well done Carol, great writing, blessings Roy
