author, this is heartwrenching. How fortunate you were. I give God the credit. A Florida hospital just operated on my granddaughter's 5 months old baby for a hole in his heart. My Lord guided the surgeons' hands every step of the way. Have you seen the movie "Something the Lord Made"? The story of the first heart surgery to save the blue babies. Wonderful movie. God is good.

This was well done, good sentence structure, flow and no spag. Thank you, pat

I enjoyed this story about heroism. I agree that he is pretty amazing to have battled his way through all that he did. Good luck in the contest.

Your Heroism entry is nothing short of spectacular. I can't imagine an infant having to endure such an ordeal. Your son is the epitome of a hero.

Excellent.
It is a great story of courage shown by a small four month old baby.
Yes, he was a hero and I fully empathis with the story.
Some people have the indomitable will to overcome any adversity that comes across their path.
Your som was indeed a SUPER HERO.
I doff my hat to him.

This is such a beautifully written and very touching true story. You write with such emotion and truth-heartwrenching situation to go through. You are so lucky to kiss him every day, as he is lucky to be kissed by you! I think this is a wonderful tribute to your special hero. Very nice job! Dana

just one thing==
1% (chance) of survival

excellent story you have told here,,,not only about the courage of the child but also the courage of a parent,,,nothing hurts a parent more than seeing their child suffer and having no power to help them...good luck in the contest.

I would have been shocked if he hadn't, Friend. These SPECIAL children are sent to grace our lives for special reasons. May I applaud you on your strength of will that you are still here after 40 years? That you still LOVE after so long? That the object of your love still has his wonderful Mother to love in return? With respect, Pat.

What a touching story,
pulling at my heart-strings...
youngsters are stronger and
braver than we think....

When one of my little lads
had an operation, I was all
choked with tears as he came
around, and his first words
to me were
"I'm hungry, Mum." which made
me smile through my tears....
a typical male.

Good luck with the contest, my friend.
Margaret.

You are right. Heroes do come in all shapes and sizes.
I often think as I look at someone, how little I know of what they have gone through up until now.
There are quite a few heroes out there.
i am so pleased that you found yours forty two years ago and still have him today.

Juliette
