an twelve pound bundle - a twelve
What a lovely, inspirational story of a little baby who had the spirit and fight in him to overcome huge odds and live to see another day and another day and another day. :-) I could just picture him awakening and cooing at the surgeons. This is quite an emotional essay, a strong contender in the hero contest :-) Brooke

This is an awesome piece and hooray for all the miracle babies! The big question is: how is Johnny today? I would suggest bridging that time line :)

    Jeru,

I assumed since I used the date of 1968, people would know his age. But I have altered the ending to show that he is going to be 42 this year. His heart out shines the brain damage and I am truly lucky. smiles to you....

This is a wonderful heart-warming story. Not only is it well written and well edited, it brought a lump to my throat at the thought of him waking up and cooing

I remember how an - a twelve pound. This is a beautiful story and that baby certainly is a hero. It is a pity that you wrote this in "telling" and not story form.
Good luck
Cheers

This piece is well written, about a crisis well lived. The fear and the feeling of almost no hope are clearly portrayed. The aloneness of the situation is equally clear. Heroes do come in all sizes and ages. Well done.
