Dear Brooke,

I Meant to Sail the Oceans is beautiful but sad, All those ambitions on the tick list but none used (LOL). As always this poem flowed to perfection and I loved the rhyme and rhythm.

Kind regards
Steve

Thank you, STeve, yes, sad it is. I had someone tell me it was funny this morning, and I'm still scratching my head over that one.

Brooke, you always have such great messages in your poems. I think we're all like this at times when we don't use our ticket. It's a shame because we think they'll always be another time, and usually there isn't. We shouldn't let life pass us by when we could make good use of it, but it seems as if we always find an excuse for everything. I'm guilty, I'll admit to that. Great writing, and I wish you the best of luck in this contest. . .Sharon

G'day Brooke
Thought I needed to shop in the quality end of town this morning :-)
A neat piece of writig as always, though personally i should have liked some indication of why you never 'used your ticket'.

Cheers

I like you quatrain poem. It is easy to read with it nice rhyme and rhythm. It reminds me of the many things I meant to do but when the opportunity came, it seemed other things were more pressing. It would be a shame if life passes us by and we failed to use the ticket.

Hello Brooke so much fun readin you well written quatrains poem.

(What) you haven't done any of those wonderful things.
Stan and I have done them all.
My most laughable one is riding on a smelley camel.
They put you in a basket and let me tell you get an adventurous swinging and swaying ride.
good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Gert. I did quite a few adventuresome things when younger, not nearly enough lately. I'm glad you've had great adventures. Brooke :-)

A wonderful example of shoulda, coulda, but never did. As a very young goal setter it has been an exciting life. I am going to write a book with the help of a well known adviser of how to realized your dreams. Title will be something like, "Without a Vision a Life Perishes." So loved the offering you penned. Would like your persmission to use when the project I mentioned comes to fruition.

So beautifully sad. So many of us too often fail to redeem our around the world to any place we please to go...tickets.

You have stated this so very wonderfully.
But when day of departure
for every journey came,
I failed to use my ticket --
no summits can I claim.

Very well done.

Have a magical day...every day.

We all started out with such dreams, Brooke, and asperations to do all the things you tell of.
Strange how quite a few of us ended up with no summits to claim.
I enjoyed the jaunty rhyming scheme.

Juliette - I remember back to my high school valedictory speech - I was so going to conquer the world, or, seeing that it was 1969, achieve world peace!!! Thank you, my friend :-) Brooke

Oh Brooke, How I can relate to this poem. It is beautiful and I feel the same way as you relate in this beautiful poem. The artwork is perfect and the poem is written absolutely beautifully with a wonderful message. Maybe it's not too late for us to do some of those things. This is so inspiring. Great job, my friend. Patti :)
