This is another short story of mis-direction and surprise. I saw the fiery redhead as a mermaid off the Irish coast, tempting an onlooker. I love the way you pen your stories.

Hi Carol,

I haven't been around for a while, so it is even easier
to see your progress and I lived your story, plenty to
give the imagination a tweak. Great end, wasn't expecting
that.

Keep well and keep writing.

Colette

    Colette,

Life hasn't let me enjoy doing what I love very much either. I had one day to myself and saw suneagle's contest...decided to write a short for each of his prompts. Glad you enjoyed this one. Your awesome stars and appreciation of the little short warms my heart. Thank you! Take care...Smiles, Carol

Now this one is promising. I like th etwist at the ending. It starts out kind of magical, dreamlike, and you are quickly sent to the hospital. and it is a good thing. LOL. Great job. You are quite good at these.

    bookish,

As of late I don't get much time that I can call my own, so it was fun to write these little shorts and find that everyone enjoyed them. Thank you...Smiles, Carol

Beautiful! I know we are supposed to write more criticism but your story truly touched me. The artwork is great along with the presentation.

Knowing that you enjoyed the short short story and took something away from it is the greatest reward I could receive. Thank you...Carol

Hullo Carol ....

This is a well-written short, short story which I enjoyed reading. Your well-chosen and descriptive words provide vivid imagery for your readers. It reminds me of a short poem I wrote a while back ... about a man who saw the beautiful Nurse and thought he had died and was in Heaven ... until he saw the needle in her hand and he knew he was still on earth.
Thank you for sharing this with us. There is nothing to suggest changing.
Love from .... Nanette Mary.

    Nanette,

My time is so limited of late to enjoy what I love - writing, but I greatly appreciate knowing that even my short little bits of whimsy are appreciated. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Another well-written flash fiction story, Carol, with great conflict and resolution. Are you going to use one of the other suggestions to enter the contest?

    Karyn,

When time only allows me a few short hours to do what I love...I snatched the prompts and wrote away. Glad you enjoyed...

A wonderful little story. I loved the mermaid turning into the nurse. Seems like the nightingale syndrome. Great job with this one.

His eyes open(opened), amazed at her fiery red hair.

Hi Carol,

You are so good at these surprise endings. Even in a micro fiction story you can evoke a feeling of dread in this reader. I'm glad it ended well with that poor guy waking up, hospital or no hospital! Well done. Blessings, chey
