Your poems speaks to the very varied dreams we have ... a jumble of images yet each contained carefully. I am sad to think that Hope is all that awaits you ... sometimes we confuse the word hope (which was, after all, the last evil in Pandora's jar ... the one that would leave men lazy, but that is another poem to be written.) I wish it were love that awaited you.
Your poem is poignant, and thought-provoking.

    Thank you for the review.
I am a Man of Faith... scholar of the Word... the context of Hope comes from a "knowing" that the promises are true... and these promises are all roads that lead to LOVE...1st Cor. 14:1 ...Let love be your highest goal...

So, justas Patience is an defined as a knowing that sufferings will be endured but the hope comes from the knowing that the end results are worth the sufferings...How manypeople really even open a dictionary or the Word, lol...

your review was paralell and you seem to recieve what I was pouring out.

    Thanks for Your Effort.

I too am a scholar, but of words in general. I believe that hope is often misused when people truly are expressing faith, or experiencing help. Hope is an empty promise to some ... "Hope that works out for you" doesn't support as well as "I will help you with that" ... Hope cannot be given, but help can. Hope cannot strengthen, but faith can. Hope engenders passivity; practicing faith and offering help is positive action.

It has been pointed out to me that "hope" appears in St. Paul's writing between the words "Faith" and "Love". As the old song says, "two out of three (ain't) bad...

And patience is a virtue, which I tell my impulsive students often ... one best sustained by faith in each other, and in God.
