Oh, how I did enjoy this, as it did bring back memories of my "monster days." So, well written it immediately takes you right into the youngsters world of uncertainty. I did think you really nailed the stark sense of reality after the can was found on the shelf. Great story! Loved it!

I did enjoy reading your delightful tale. It was told with good imagery and from a great perspective, but I had trouble with the number of times you swapped verb tenses. Revise?

I was attempting to tell the story by the child's point of view, first in the past tense. Then speaking as she is telling the story the way my kids speck to me, such as, "Then she says blah
blah blah..." And I say "Blah blah blah." And I thank you for taking the time to point out my errors.... I know tenses can be tricky (especially for me.)

I love the scenarios that would pop into your head at bedtime after reading these scary stories.
What a fun story - I love resourceful parents who can figure out just how to reassure their children in a clever way :-) Brooke

I remember being a teenager and reading books like The Amityville Horror and Stephen King books and scaring myself so bad I couldn't come out from under my covers once the lights were out. What was I thinking?!

Made me laugh! Well penned you have done a very nice job with this every child should have parents who are so kind it was sorta like finding out about Santa Claus but their deception was far more personal well done.

This was so cool. What a way to save face and be bravely not afraid of monsters any more. Too bad she had to find the other label but at least it was later on in life.

Very good story! I like how she felt she was undetected but through the conversation of the parents you knew, they knew. Very clever. Also the ending was great with Old Blue paying $10 for the can of spray. I did enjoy it very much and I'm sure it will give parents an idea on how to help their children sleep. I also hope it will encourage them to prevent their children from seeing those horrible movies. Blessings LaVonne

This was so adorable. I can't imagine my mother doing anything like that. She was so strict and wouldn't allow any of us kids to speak of monsters or the like. So this was fun to read. Thanks.

Monster spray. Oh, yes. Used it with our kids, too. In their case, it was spray cologne. A weapon that belongs in every parent's arsenal. Well written from a child's POV. :) Nancy

Oh, how funny. The extent our parents will go for us to make us feel safe is undeniable a proof of their love. Too bad it embarrassed you. This was a great read, I enjoyed it a lot. Glad y'all got a lot of money for it! Didn't see any spags, great job!
