I like your new version of your revised story.
I remember the part of the elderly man and the new baby's arrival.
Was always glad that your second child was well and had no complications.
I'll have to catch up on your new chapters, for instance 1-12.

Thank you Rosemary for reviewing this. Actually this was an earlier version of the story written for a different book. It was written over ten years ago but the facts are the same. I didn't have time to write so I was reviving some older work.

Wow, you've written a candid account of a part of your life Beth. I think you handled it the best you could... I've always been one that was always so afraid of hurting someones feelings, that I got into many situations that hurt me deeply. I lost a daughter too. Her name is Beverly Ann.
Blessings and best dear Beth...

Thank you so much for the review. I didn't know you lost a daughter. I'm so sorry. You've had a lot of heartaches in your life. I think our good intentions don't always pay off. I had to deal with men coming on to me and I was too naïve to know how to handle it. I really appreciate the six stars.

Life is always throwing us curve balls, especially when it comes to the male species. It's on our shoulders (which it certainly shouldn't be) to watch for signs and deter them from what they feel is a natural instinct. I am happy that even though you were naive (as we all are at times) you were able to move past Floyd and become the awesome person you are.

Hugs, Carol

Thank you so much Carol. I really appreciate the review and comments. Unfortunately, he wasn't the last guy I had problems with. Some women seemed to cope better than I did. They could kid around with guy and get away with it, but when I tried that I always got in trouble.

Poignant as to reminiscences of Susan and disturbing as to Floyd's obsession--so true, in those days it was a matter of course. Magnificent work.

I was nearly six [month=>MONTHS] along

Oh my goodness. I was going to say this was all familiar because of the other men who made work life difficult for you. But I hadn't reviewed this post yet so this was yet another man with both a drinking problem and wondering eyes/heart. So glad you got away from there!

Suggestions:
Evan and [I] spent
failed to considered the fact (consider)
not long out of highschool, (high school)

Thank you for a great review. I'm sure it is familiar because I seemed to be a slow learner and there are two books, the one from ten years ago and the more recent one, and some of the stories about the same incidents but written at different times Thanks for ;you spag help.

You did a good job, Beth, with the way men of that time felt and acted towards women employees. I know you did nothing to encourage Floyd, and needed the job. In today's world, he would be out of a job, I suspect. You give readers great details about all of the things that happened in a non accusing way though it was evident Floyd was the aggressor. I'm happy things worked out after the birth of Carol. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you so much Jan. If I did anything to cause the problem, I was unaware of it. I couldn't think of anything I might have done differently sort of being extremely rude and angry. I had a lot to learn.

Yes, things were probably bad for young women back then. But, you're right they had no recourse but to learn to handle, I think probably the pendulum has swung perhaps v too far the other way, although rape I still a problem, because of the severity of the accusation, it can be difficult to prove. An ex girlfriend of mine had that awful thing happen to here. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : hurt Floyd's feelin(s)

Thank you Roy. You are probably right about the pendulum. Now women have a recourse, but sometimes if they have some reason to dislike a guy, they can get them in trouble and get them fired with false charges.

Yep, that?s what I mean. And damage his reputation immeasurably. Even if proven innocent, his future?s probably ruined!

Sadly, it has always been a little dangerous for young women to have to work around older males. It doesn't say much for some men, but to avoid to situations is still always best if possible. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric. The fact there was only the two of us working in a separate building, probably contributed to the problem. I didn't realize that was the setup when I took the job. I eventually learned how to avoid this kind of problem, but I young and naive.

That's too bad you had to quit your job because of it. We've all had times when we were harassed at work. I learned to deal with it and go on. But you were very young and that made a difference.

Thank for the review and comments. I did get better at coping as I got older but then maybe men found me less vulnerable and attractive as I got older. LOL
reply by damommy on 14-Dec-2021
No, that wasn't it. You just learned how to avoid or handle the situation.

Hi Beth, what an ordeal, and what jerk this Floyd was. It's amazing what some men think they can get away with whether they're alcoholics or not. I'm glad you got rid of him in the end. I'm so enjoying this, and welcome to little Carol. Ulla:)))

Thank you so much for the review and comments It is probably confusing because I have two stories that are similar. This is one I wrote over ten years ago and it took place in 1959, The one I'm writing not has gotten to 1991 and my children ae grown. I've been reposting some lately because I have things keeping me to busy to write. Hopefully I won't confuse you too much.

Beth, rest assured, I'm not confused, at all. I know this is happening in your early years of marriage, and I'm totally enjoying it. I hope you soon find time to write on the latter one once again. Ulla x
