Thanks for sharing again from this book which gives us a different perspective from your other book. I would think having such different desires in city vs. country lifestyles could hurt a marriage but you made it work!
PS by the way, I learned from Phyllis Stewart years ago that repromoted works don't contribute to the current year's ranking. Just FYI.

He was adventurous when in came to buying land and he made good decisions. When it came to camping his sense of adventure wasn't there.

Hi Beth, this continues to be so interesting. I can understand the yearn to farm the same yearn I've always had to sail the ocean. Some things just runs in your veins.I've sailed all my life to and Evan is doing what he had to do. Now on to the next part. Ulla:)))

I know the feeling of being stuck in the country. Every summer my mom was leaving us for 3 months to live with our grandparents in the village. We never got bored because we had to help with the field, gardening and even tend to the animals. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your next chapter.

This is a great story about another one of your adventures, Beth. At least you had a little experience with country living. I remember the first time I saw a horse being bred, after I got married. I felt like a surprised child! lol

Thank you Judy. We used to have free range chickens. When the rooster got on top of hen and grabbed her comb, at three, I embarrassed by parents by yelling for everyone to come see the rooster combing the hen.

Your chapter shows just how accurate that old saying is about your husband: "You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy."

Your chapter shows just how accurate that old saying is about your husband: "You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy."

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I never regretted having the experience of country living. When I was young, I thought there was more interesting things going on in the city but I was wrong. I'm glad you are enjoying my story.

Thank you Jan. The land turned out to be the best investment we ever made. My husband was right in buying it while we could afford it.

Thank you Roy, I'm so glad you're enjoying my repost. My husband's family were from Tregaron, Cardiganshire, Wales. Five of the Shelby or Selby (earlier) family migrated to Maryland in the early 1700's The original Evan Shelby came with his wife, who was a Davies. My grandmother was Davis and that family was also from Wales. Interestingly Owen is also one of the surnames in my husband's roots. Who knows, we may be related to you. It's a small world after all. According to Ancestry.com we have only Scotch, English, Welsh and Irish in our DNA. I know some of my people came from France, Germany and Switzerland but the tests didn't find it in the DNA.
