That's got to be the creepiest thing I've ever read. You have given Stephen King a run for his money, and he's very good at creeping me out. Radshaw must survive somehow, because he's telling the story. I'm guessing the Angwrath will help him.

I can't say this humor/horror is my cup of tea, but I did enjoy nearly all your analogies. Shows like Star Trek work but the ones of real people were either people I didn't know or ones I did recognize, and it jerked me out of the imaginative story. Your constant flow of analogies is very impressive, and I think most readers would love them. There was only one thing you might want to change: There I was think(ing) it was fear . . . I'm looking forward to the next installment.

I can't say this humor/horror is my cup of tea, but I did enjoy nearly all your analogies. Thank you, Carol :-). Indeed, this is a pretty extreme slant on the genre, and admittedly a lot of my references are quite English and won't make sense to everyone. I'm glad you're still looking forward to the last chapter though :-).

Thank you, Kate :-). It's a beast of a chapter, this one, but I didn't feel I could split the final showdown! I love the idea of that place one can get to beyond fear, where things are so extreme they almost don't matter any more, and how that can be almost empowering.

I love when I feel something as the reader, Mike. I lived this as I read, and I was humored, riddled with pain, and scared to death, along with the characters in this chapter. Thanks so much, John, and thanks especially for sticking it through this monster chapter. I was worried this story was a bit over-written, but in checking through before reviving, I barely removed anything. This is definitely my style of story, lol. I hope you enjoy the concluding chapter.

Thank you, Jay :-). When reviving this chapter, I came very close to cutting it in half, but that would have meant presenting half of it as a new chapter, and that seemed wrong. Also, it's the big confrontation with evil, so cutting it in the middle felt wrong! I'm so glad you weren't put off by it. I know this is a wordy story, but hopefully always with a purpose, even when that purpose is just poking fun at something :-).

Well, it was a battle unlike anything I've read or seen in a film! I liked your revision of the four horsemen of Revelation to "War, Famine, Pestilence and Snuggles." Each time I think I know what's going to happen next, I see you pull the rug from under me and an unexpected thing happens like the giant Teddy Bear and that the gun shots would work at all on those creatures. I kept hoping that the Angwrath was going help Radshaw but alas, it seems to go on to fulfill some evil mission...?

Thank you, Helen :-). I guess in a roundabout way, the Angwrath did help, because without him (and Abaddon's hubris), the gunshots would indeed have been useless. I love to be a little unexpected! Let's hope Mike still has a chance at getting through to the young Angwrath before anything too awful happens!

Thank you, Roy :-). I appreciate the read - I know this is a beast of a chapter but I couldn't break up the climactic confrontation. Indeed, all he's really managed is to create an opportunity to escape, and only because the Angwrath was there to help (albeit unwittingly).

Thanks Douglas :-). If I was posting it now, I'd do it in two parts, but since I'm reviving the original post, I didn't want to break it up (and there's no comfortable place to break what is essentially the climactic confrontation of the story). Glad you enjoyed it!
