I enjoyed the read. Once again you amaze me with your descriptions and characterization. You do a very good job. I felt like I was part of the scenes.

Thank you, Barbara :-). I think Mr Radshaw's one of mu more defined characters and I'm sure that aids the narrative, especially in first person writing. I'm in the last chapter now. Feels quite sad!

A mesmerizing read Mike, I hung on your every word mate, the visuals were Guillermo Del Toro/malevolence laced insanity and the dialogue was Pulp Fiction fused with Event Horizon,it just doesn't get any better mate. Loved every word, every scene every f/n thing about that chapter :) You know I'd SIX you if I could mate! But as always I've giving you your lot all ready, that's how much I enjoy reading you and yours Mike:)

Lol, thanks so much, Hitch. That was an intense chapter to write. Now I'm in the concluding part and it feels a bit sad to be ending the tale. I love Event Horizon - one of my faves. Saw Riddick at the weekend. Critics gave it one star but I thought it was brilliant. A return to the moody, dark threat and intensity of Pitch Black.

Yea, Riddick comes out tomorrow over here so I've seen the previews, I"ll be seeing it at the flicks for sure! I loved Pitch Black when I saw it for the first time... it's part of my ever expanding movie collection might have to watch it again before I go see :) Hitch

love the chapter title :-)
I love your similes, as always - such as the molten marshmallow...
vivid, mood-creating detail of setting
Thunder shook the ground from beneath me, and - I added the comma
I'm laughing at the humor in the "Dude" passage LOL
coughed a thick splatter of clotted blood - I can always count on you for some gruesome gore :-)
grip, yank, drag - great use of high-impact verbs in the action sequences

Thank you, Brooke! Poor old Mike's taken a beating on this case hasn't he? He's always got sarcasm yo bolster him though, and see him through the bad times. Glad you liked the humour, and thank you for the catch :-).

I love this character, Mike Radshaw. This chapter has everything - humor,(I laughed out loud), intrigue and suspense, a battle between good and evil and at last the chance to rescue the unknowing child. I have to think Mr Black used the sugar to coax the child in some way. The writing is brilliant and I can't wait to read the next chapter. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Linda :-). He's a lot of fun to write, if a bit tiring at times. It feels good to be getting to the conclusion of this tale. I'm thrilled you're enjoying it!

I love it; especially the humor. It's genius to take such a serious subject and interject humor everywhere. I'm sorry that this is coming to an end, but look forward to the next project.

Oh my God! What a marvelously twisted mind you have--and I mean that as a compliment too. This is my first review this morning and I now need to go to Constansa's for a decent cup of coffee and contemplate all of this. This is the best, scaryiest, and most disgusting chapter I have ever read--again a compliment. Waiting for the last chapter will most definitely be agony, but what choice do I have?

Your descriptions are hysterical and I listed a few below:

"As first visits to hell go," I mumbled, "this has certainly made an impression." ...great line!

The air here wafted against my face like a thousand dog farts...this one made me spew coffee all over my computer screen...

What a numpty..that has to be a made up word, but I love it and have added it to my new-word vocabulary list...

Patron Saint of paedophiles...just spewed coffee all over my keyboard.

I am completely out of 6's but that's okay. This deserves a 10 and they don't let us give them out.

Thanks so much, my friend :-). I love to know my attempts at humour aren't in vain. Numpty is a very London word and sits alongside Muppet, Nonce and Twat as old-school put-downs. It does have a great ring to it, doesn't it? I hope the conclusion won't be an anti-climax.

well done. this is an excellent continuation of a story line that seems to be coming along nicely. It seems to have deep undertones to the story and that takes a strong writer. Good luck

Thank you, Karen :-). This Radshaw tale was going to be '2 or 3' chapters when I started it, lol. I will be editing and reissuing earlier Mike Radshaw stories once I've finished this. I'm thinking of publishing them as a collection.
