The last part of the poem does contain many jangling and jarring words, and we can really hear the kids' efforts to please. The beginning is quite soft; this emphasizes the cacophony of the second part.Thank you for using my picture to illustrate your work.

I can imagine three year olds being very noisy. Your noises, though are quite plesant (ring-a-ling, singing etc.)
A cacophony is something that hurts the ears, harsh, jarring.
The rhyming is not quite consistent either, but the picture you describe is lovely.

Perfect entry for the Cacophony competition. You have filled all the requirements and used plenty of harsh, jarring words - a good idea in ten lines. Good luck. Regards Dorothy

I really like this poem. I'm not certain it is a good entry for the contest though. I did not get a harsh, discordant or jarring feel from the word choice.

Drums banging- BOOM,BOOM,DA BOOM,
Bells ringing-ding,ding ring-a-ling,
The jangling of those tambourines.
Add in all the shake,shake,shake,
for the children with the shakers,
Welcome to my class of little noise makers.

You have the best noise makers in the whole wide world. Heeheh and you can tell them I said so.

Good use of cacophony. Sounds like a really fun class. Just one minor ding-a-ling - my three year old class- do you mean the class is 3 years old or that it is a class of 3 year olds?

There is no doubt that three year olds can create a cacophony of sound. Add 'rhythm band' and you really have little noise makers. Good luck, I enjoyed this one. Carolyn
