This poem has a fantastic story of a bowman about his bruised ego and view; I enjoyed the read, the rhymes, the free flow of thoughts, well said, well done; thanks for sharing this; keep posting. Good luck. ALCREATOR

This a very good story with a moral ending for the Share A Story In A Poem contest. This entry should do well in the contest. Well done and good luck!

This poem, The Bruised Ego, tells a valiant story of the greatest bowman in the land and the equal who taught him that there is always someone better.

This is a great story in a poem, and as the best of stories do, it has a moral. That being don't count your wins until you've actually got them.

I really quite enjoyed this, and many thanks for reviving this fine poem.

Author: this poem has much to offer. There is a lot of history from the days of shires. A contest ensues with a young woman winning over the overly cocky man - a moral to the story. Creative writing with real human twists. Never underestimate the power of a woman. . .been saying it since the 60's when no one wanted to hear it. Good writing! livelylinda

Well, this is gender equality in the olden times. But carried to the present it still speaks true - bruising the male ego when the females overdo.

I don't have the statistics but it looks like it is mostly the females who hit their "targets" when it comes to quota objectives.

Will the males accept the trend or scratch their heads?

1st line, 7th paragraph: "the" is missing the "y."
