"Heart and Soul" is an excellent poem. I think that you have shown that life is more than just surface things in this couplet structured poem with excellent rhyme, flow and figurative language and imagery (the talents we hone).

I tell my husband and my three grandsons that I am raising, as a matter of fact, I give this very same message to anyone in my life who is having a hard time dealing with something. You took the words right out of my mouth. Life is not about what you have but about how you deal and what you feel. Thanks for passing such an awesome message on.

True, that, DEBBIE. Life, and all of the wonderful material possessions that God gifts us with, means very little if we have no own with which to share it. It's akin to owning a horse ranch sans horses, or a daycare center with no children. Useless, senseless and an over indulgence, at best.
Loved the presentation done in a calm purple, with rhyming couplets. Nice choice!

However, for me - life is about working all morning outside in hot, humid weather. Then having lunch, taking a shower, and afterwards watching your Lab react to his dreams as he lies against your leg - while you sit at the head of your bed, taking online surveys.

Nice poem. It does have a point.
However, for me - life is about working all morning outside in hot, humid weather. Then having lunch, taking a shower, and afterwards watching your Lab react to his dreams as he lies against your leg - while you sit at the head of your bed, taking online surveys.
