Much of the values of life lie within.

Hi, Debbie,
"Be Heard" is a good poem. With a rhyme scheme consistently followed and good rhyme. It has good flow and figurative language and imagery. (harbor peace of a dove). Some of the rhyme appears to be forced with the word order used so that words rhyme. The reason repeating the first stanza as the last is not apparent to me.
Your friend,
Preston

I'll take a look at the rhymes and wording and try to make it less forced. The repetition of the first stanza as the last is a poetic technique to add emphasis. Thank you so very much. Have a good day, my friend~Debbie

Debbie;
it is amusing that you mention mumsy (Lois) And her excellent book which I had to great pleasure of reading.
Your writing on the elevation and enrichment of the self is not only well written but also inspirational and enlightening.
These rhyming couplet quatrains were done very well in the rhyming was neither forced nor labored and your rhythm flowed smoothly throughout your poem.
Your imagination is very inventive and creative in this poem in your imagery is descriptive and expressive throughout.
Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone you to read and may the Lord be with you always.
Alex

Gently spoken words are easier to hear that harsh and loud ones. I truly like the admonitions within this poem as well as the flawless execution of form.
Well done, my friend,
love, Carolyn

Yes, let us write while we still can. We all have stories waiting to be told. The stream in the picture reminds me so much of a tiny branch that ran through our property as I grew up. It fed into a creek nearby. So often I fished or dreamed on that creek. I was sure it flowed to a great big world waiting to be explored. I've seen the world -- now can I travel that creek back?

I have often wondered about what happened to the old saying 'if you can't say something nice about somebody, don't say anything at all'? I grew up with that and taught my boys that, but it doesn't seem to fly in today's society. I enjoyed reading your poem, again you speak from wisdom.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

An aphorism in the first two lines of this wonderful poem:

"Please speak gently your words
Only then they will be heard"

Worthy of the masters of the far East! Remarkable poem, Debbie. Fully worthy of a 6!
