That is little tale is just totally gross, Dean; the background story is interesting, too. Congratulations on winning the contest! Evi

Thanks, Evi. I'm glad you read the notes, so many don't even bother. That is definitely one whacky grandma. She's probably a hoot to be around if the truth be known.
Thanks so much for your review. :)

Well that is different, the author's notes are a lot longer than this mircro horror. An interesting twist on the Sunday roast. Congrats on the contest win Dean.

Ha-ha, yeah, Pearl, I know they are, right? But it was such a horrific thing for a grandmother to do--even in jest--that I simply had to include those notes.
Thanks again for your review. ~Dean

Hi Dean

I should have known it was YOU. Congratulations, you had my vote and some excellent competition you had in this contest. The Master still has it. lol Sorry I couldn't review at the time ... sometimes I have to read and vote and then come back to reviews. I loved the presentation. Your word skill is remarkable and your writing always has an edge. Well done. Where on earth did you find that baby in the oven, or perhaps it's one of your own baby shots? Hugs - Lovi xoxo PS Wish I had a six.

Thanks for the congrats and thoughtful remarks, Lovi. No sixes necessary, my friend. The fact that you were entertained and enjoyed reading it is reward enough for me, M'dear.

That's an actual picture from Facebook by a grandmother playing a "prank." Didn't you read my author's notes? It's all detailed right there. Pretty sick joke if you ask me.

    Thanks again...~Dean :)

Thanks, TPAC. It was written for a 100 word horror competition, so you were challenged to tell a complete story AND try to terrify your readers in just 100 words. Hopefully I managed to pull it off. We'll see when the votes are all tallied and the dust has settled in a couple of days.
I very much appreciate the six stars. But even more than that, I'm happy knowing that you enjoyed it. :)

This meets the contest requirements splendidly. This is well executed and takes gross to knew heights in terms of meaning. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you for sharing it.

Scary, awful, yucky, and sooooo morbid....in other words ; wonderful! You answered the contest's call completely in this horribly scary tale.

I enjoyed reading this. I can say, firsthand, that writing a story in this genre that stays under a hundred words is pretty damn difficult. ;-)
I wish you the (second) best of luck in this contest... lol

By the way, this story reminds me of "Salas Fingers" from youtube. If you're not familiar with it, I think you should look it up as I believe it's right up your alley.

Sincerely,
Your Friendly Competition (until July 4th, then I'm just another fan)

Thanks, Master "P", and I'll be sure to look it up. Most of these stories I write in this series are old stories I've heard around campfires, or based on urban myths and legends. The variants are different, but the end result is the same.
Hey, good luck to you as well. I wish you all the best, and thanks again. :)

I knew what was coming but I didn't expect the picture of the sweet baby in the oven. LOL That's too funny. A dark sense of humor. Good job!

At least it seems to be an error..... Let's hope the recipe isn't in some ghoulish cook book she has hidden away.

Nice, short entry that looks like a winner from here. Most enjoyable.

Have to run. Something is in the oven; can't remember what...

Ha-ha, well, I hope that whatever you have there in the oven is delightfully delicious, Fridayauthor. Thanks so much for your review. :)

I don't usually like reading anything where children are victims, but this is done so well.

The fifth paragraph was written in such a way as to almost provoke sympathy for Mom. I said almost, LOL. Good writing and good reading. Hugs, Lou

Thanks, Lou. Poor Ma, she could have been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease or dementia. This has actually happened before, and on more than one occasion. In many of those cases, the aforementioned diseases were the culprits. Good Lord, I could only imagine... :0
