I read the poem and then listened to the song. Quite beautiful and heartfelt - and your singing (?) was lovely.

I really liked the turn in the last verse: "He WILL turn your suffering...INTO Hallelujah..." Very nice!

A couple of notes:
--> As she watches (H)is suffering
--> The Father turns (H)is face away

Not sure if you wanted to capitalize, but you had in other places, so....

Yes I do write music. I posted a link at the bottom of my notes with a link to me singing and playing this just in case anyone wanted to hear what it sounded like. It's a lot of fun to put these words to music. Thank you so much for your kind comments. I appreciate the time you took to read this.

Katie, this is a beautiful song you have written in praise of God in the midst of a difficult time. (Your notes gave me the goosebumps.)
I like the creative repetition of "offering" and "suffering" in every verse. You also mentioned some great examples of people from the Bible with their different kinds of offering and suffering.
Lovely last verse:
When the dark of life weighs you down
And pain's your offering?
With nothing but your surrender
He will turn your suffering
into
Hallelujah
Yes, that's our wonderful God!
Oh, and that must be you singing it and playing the guitar. Beautiful! I enjoyed both reading this and listening to the singing.
