Well, I'm pleased to learn that nothing has happened so far. It's scary to think what can happen when it's your loved one and they persists to do what they want. Good entry. All the best. Ulla:)))

A tragic farm story indeed. It is very difficult for older people to stop doing what they love to do.

Very interesting and well-written. I look forward to reading more of your work. All the best.

LOL, I know the type. My father is one of those men. But, I have to realize that my dad it an 'outside' man. He needs to be outside with something to do or he will wither up and die sooner then his time is suppose to be. That is one reason that he and my mom work with salvage. He had a stroke among other things many years ago and can't get around to do a lot, now. But I thank God that he found something to do, to keep him here a little longer, as not all of his kids are living for the Lord yet. Thank you for sharing. Tina

Thank you. I wish my husband could get around enough to do some of the outdoor things he loves. He got hurt by a bull three years ago and now sits in the house all day. I feel so sorry for him.

Yes a tragic accident but a lesson too. At 86 years old it is a blessing to die doing something you love. At least you don't have to worry about this actually happening.

Thank you. My 94- year- old uncle just passed away 2 weeks ago. He mowed the lawn the day before he died. He also drove his car yet and lived alone by his choice. I hope to do the same in my old age.

Well done in keeping with the under 100 requirement. You have told a story that is relate-able, both as the subject of your story, and as his wife and kids owning the concern for his well being.

Thank you. It is difficult to tell a complete story in so few words. I love the challenge.

Sometimes your pride can get you in a lot of trouble. I like your story and is a tale that I can relate to. A nice short read that kept my attention.

It is a sad short story. No one wants to see a loved one die, but if you have to go, then I think dying doing what you love the most is the way. Well done.

Thank you. Farmers often die in tractor- related accidents. Tractors are not forgiving of errors.

I am so glad your husband quit driving tractors before your nightmare came true. I have a husband who loves tractors as well, and I imagine he will stay on them as long as he can as well.

I had an old uncle on a farm in PA who died just this way, doing what he loved. I love the flash fiction format and this was good. It told the story in such a true and straightforward way. Good Job.

Thank you. Farmers are often killed by farm machinery. Tractors are very un-forgiving of errors.
