Good work and no spags. You certainly had us all hanging there to see who the stalker really was. Great drama and a good description especially liked all the deal of the tire change hehe.

The focus the Deputy has been working hard to have Cody taken back to Palo Pinto.
The story line development: Beth is heading home when she notices a car following her she wonders if she is the next assassins victim. Her tire blows and he offers to help. He changes the tire and hands her a summons to return Cody to his seventh cousin.
The dialog shows the vindictive nature of the deputy as he is the reason for Cody having to leave.
The emotions felt anger that he is so spiteful.

Hi Bret,
I liked this chapter of your book too. Once in awhile I had to read things over again as I didn't understand them at first. It's because I'm old and I have been forgetting a lot of things.

Oh my goodness what a turn of events and sad ones at that.
Does Cody know something about the deputy that he does not know he knows? The hated for the boy is overwhelming and the want to destroy Brock and Beth is weird. Very interrestng and I could fine no errors
