I can recall you mentioning this writer before in a previous Haiku. I am
learning that a 2-4-2 is also a haiku. He would be proud of this one. I
especially smiled over the word "blissfool." All the best in the contest. -Bill

Hello Gypsy Blue Rose, In eight syllable your poem gives a fun tribute to Basho. I think that he would like the humor.
Very good. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

What an original and funny 2-4-2 this is, Gypsy. I like it. Who is Matsuo Basho, anyway? Good luck in the contest, my friend. I would say after reading so many of these that yours stands out and could win.

Hi Gypsy;
-I really liked what you have done in this 2/4/2 syllabic format and how you worded
blissfool that was quite imaginative and very inventive.
-I wish I knew of Basho but my intelligent's is not all that referenced.

Hello, Alex, Matsuo Basho is the best haikuist in history, considered to be the father of haiku.
You are always supportive and encouraging to me and I am grateful

Hi Gypsy, thanks for the information and you are so very welcome.

Hello Gypsy
I like your thought about the writer Basho
of how you brought hos is thoughts of how he could as you sais( blissfool) a reader with his sad and glad thoughts.
I love his quotes and here s one that impressed me-
. "In the end, without skill or talent, I've given myself over entirely to poetry. Po Chu-i labored at it until he nearly burst. Tu Fu starved rather than abandon it. Neither my intelligence nor my writing is comparable to such men. Nevertheless, in the end, we ALL live in phantom huts." ~ Matsuo BashÅ?

Hahahaha...don't let Basho ever hear you say that, dear Gypsy. You're very lucky if he doesn't crawl from the grave (providing that he's not been cremated, of course??) and come back to haunt you, heh-heh.
Seriously, Basho was, and still is, one of the haiku greats.
This is a great entry in the two-four-two contest. In fact, that are a LOT of great entries in this particular contest.
Oh, woe is me ...

What? You cruel soul, you! Lots of great entries? I thought mine was especial, damn you! LoL just kidding.
I did think mine was unique, how many others turned their 2/4/2 into haiku? It was not easy, let me tell you.
I appreciate your infuriating review, Dean. I owe you one.
ps. I called, Basho this morning and he said it was okay to make a mockery of his name. By the way, he said to tell you that everyone in the ''beyond'' send you their best regards. Heh heh heh heh ...

An excellent entry for the 2-4-2 contest
Basho is somewhere smiling
Too bad he isn't a judge in the contest
contrasting contradictions
Good satori line
great art work to match
Nicely done
Good luck in the contest
