I really enjoyed this chapter, Brett. A category 5 hurricane indeed. I could almost feel the enjoyment you took in describing Cody's mayhem. This element of his character is really consistent with the abusive situation from which he'd come. That's good character writing. The whole episode is action packed, even better than the previous chapter. Despite his criminal actions, the reader is totally in Cody's corner. Empathy with character is so important and I think this kid deserves it. Terrific work here, Brett. A couple of suggestions:
cupboards, and drawers...remove the comma after cupboard
Romaine's property....Romaine's Doberman.
Glad to be able to offer a sixer here.

Now what is he going to do with the bag of evidence and who can he trust to give it to.
I tell you this is a winner for sure.
You have my attention from the start.

WOW. I fear for Cody when Taylor finds out. Great job with this chapter. You walked us through the procedure like a coroner doing an autopsy. Look forward to the next. Mary

Cody is really on a rampage in this. He doesn't seem to have learned from his past misadventures and his promises to Sheriff Daniels. If the police are there to arrest Taylor, they might well have found the evidence that Cody snatched. How will Cody be able to see that the evidence is used against Taylor if he has to explain how he happened to find it. The police will surely wonder about how Taylor's place came to be so trashed. I understand that Cody has suffered at the hands of Taylor and wants to get revenge, but he's really gone too far. What will Daniels do with him after this episode? judi

Hi Brett,
This is nicely written and also an interesting read, although I was not to happy at all the damage Cody did. With my forgetfulness I don't remember who Taylor is either. I'm glad Cody found the thing he wanted and is bringing the evidence bag to Sheriff Daniels. I look forward to reading more about what's happening.

Held my interest all the way. Totally believable as something a child of anger would keep inside and it would play out hard and heavy.
No problems noted other than Cody's delema how to get the evidence to the sheriff

Whoa, that boy didn't leave anything undone, did he? He/you were very thorough. Great job of describing what he did and saw. Good suspense. But now, what's he going to do with the evidence?
Loved it, and his fighting back!

You have done it yet again you have me on the edge of my seat with an exciting instalment and then leave me in suspense. Well done for that at least the only trouble is I now have to wait until you post some more.
