Looks like this guy has had a few fun times with his homemade moonshine!
I know he's dancing on his own music beat. Funny!!! Yes, I've been at the Bible
conference, busy summer. Hope you are safe and having fun. Are you joining
him for a round of moonshine?!? We have Minnesota wine and awesome apples
in our country...no moonshine. Great entry! flylikeaneagle

LOL! Minnesota wine and awesome apples sound fantastic too. Thank you so much, flylikeaneagle, for taking time to read my poem. It's hard for even me to imagine that I started writing about the sun and the moon, and ended up sidetracked on moonshine. Your kind words and extra special six-star review are greatly appreciated. You've made my week with this wonderful review! I'm so glad you liked it! :-)

This is very funny. The picture you chose compliments your poem very well. Yes, the sunshine is glorious, but that white lightning warms things up just as well as sunshine! Actually, it's called 'Orchard Tea' where I come from!

No spags, and the count is right. All is well. :o) Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much, Suzanne, for taking time to read my story. Orchard Tea, I sure like the ring to that name, and hearing it from someone who knows about the libations and sensations. It's hard for even me to imagine that I started writing about the sun and the moon, and ended up sidetracked on moonshine. In all honesty, I don't drink anything stronger these days than coffee or tea. Darn it! LOL! Your kind words, comments, and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

Another great and fun work, new FS member. I must add that moonshine brings out sunshine as well. I'm working on a poem related to wine, a thought association, I guess.

Thank you so much, Amada, for taking time to read my poem. It's hard even for me to imagine that I started writing about the sun and the moon, and ended up sidetracked on moonshine. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

I found this very humorous and enjoyed it quite a bit. You manage to convey meaning in so few words in this 5-7-5. I love that you compared sunshine to moonshine! The artwork really adds to the enjoyment and humor of the piece. Nicely done! Thanks so much for sharing!

Thank you so much for taking time to read another of my poems. It's hard for even me to imagine that I started writing about the sun and the moon, and ended up sidetracked with moonshine. So many people haven't even caught the jest of "White lighting," another slang for moonshine, and what some moonshiners call "Glorious sunshine," and how it ties with "Brightens every joyous day." Then, "Ah, but that moonshine." Which has nothing to do with the shining moon, but a moonshine night. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-) I appreciate you!

Yes, I've had one lady go off on me about stereotyping , and said that I would use the "N-word," and so on, and on. And of course, I made the mistake of trying to explain to her that I was from moonshine country and would never put anyone down, and assured her these people wouldn't know anyone was talking about them, and definitely wouldn't care. LOL!. Oh, well, you know how it goes. Thank you so much, DJeckert, for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

I love the humor in this. Can't say as I've ever tried moonshine, but I'll try about anything once. Don't drink to much or you might miss out on who wins the contest, my friend~Debbie

Well, don't tell anyone or you might spoil my image, but I don't drink anything stronger than tea or coffee anymore. Thank you so much for taking time to read another of my stories. It's hard for even me to imagine that I started writing this about the sun and the moon, and ended up sidetracked on moonshine. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

I saw your poem in the contest. The words and picture are a perfect marriage!
Your 5-7-5 pattern didn't seem to fence you in. This reads very naturally.

This is witty in a wierd but fun way. It is punny. Moonshine could be the opposite of sunshine or as the picture shows booze. Both the sun and homemade moonshine can supply a kind of light. But too much the the jug can turn out all light.

Good luck in the contest.

Keep writing

Thank you so much, DP, for taking time to read my poem. Yes, their are lots of correlations with this piece, even with some of the moonshiners who call their magic potions "Glorious sunshine." Of course, a bad batch can make you go blind. It's hard for even me to imagine how I started off writing about the sun and the moon, and ended up sidetracked on moonshine. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

Ah, I can see the truth of this, at least for those who can enjoy both a beautiful day and a cool strong drink. Good use of humor too. Well done.
