Hello Sister Gypsy,
I had to come back for this... having touched me so deeply when I've been so sad... I can't even say WHY it has, but it has... most notably, that second line:

gentle spirit years kind touch

and the thought that we all have this armor, but beneath it, we yearn to be touched gently... really gorgeous, your tender spirit comes through in this... and just when I needed it most.

Thank you,
Love you honey....
Sister Cat

I love you too, little sister. I am so glad that my words were meaningful to you. That is the point but it doesn't always work.
Thank you for the six stars and for remembering to go back, that was very nice, sweetie pie. Big Hug!!!!

beautiful little haiku with orchids and warrior spirit
seemingly contradictory
and in opposition to love
but she has passion or
she would not be a warrior...

Some people hide behind a hard exterior because they have been hurt and they must protect their fragile spirit. OR a woman warrior is strong and fierce but deep inside she's still a woman who appreciates the beauty of a flower.

    Thank you, Nika :)

This could apply to both a male and a female. We learn to protect our frail spirit by wearing a tough shell like that of a turtle. Great oxymoron at the end.

thank you, you got the meaning of my haiku right. Not everyone does. You are right, it applies to all human beings, maybe to all sentient beings. I appreciate the review, sweetie pie, thank you.

How is your husband doing? How are you holding up? I hope things are getting better. I am sending you healing energy and love.

Hi Gypsy. I like this one. Your words combine tenderness with strength. We all have need for both. Art work is beautiful and perfect accompaniment for your words. Marilyn

Excellent thought. Even if she makes Navy Seal, she'll still have that soft, feminine side. There are time when she'll just want to be treated like a woman. The orchids would bolster her need to feel feminine on occasion. Hope she'll keep that warrior side, too. Lovely presentation. judi

No worries, she is a fighter and nothing will change that. It's part of her nature. But as you say, she is a woman and has that feminine side within her. I think it's very important to keep that side of you alive. Thank you, sweetie pie. I appreciate your kind review.

You're very welcome. No, you can't take that away. They appreciate being treated to orchids occasionally, too. judi

Your artwork selection is so parallel to your description, I have to assume the picture inspired the haiku. Thank you for your detailed notes on the form. The alliteration of "b's" intensify your message along with the vivid "orchids". Cheers- Joan

Hi Gypsy,

Your poem is lovely as usual. The picture of the woman is really nice. I can't figure out what she has on her arm though. It kind of looks like a couple of birds.

Thank you, sweetie pie. I appreciate your kind review. She is a warrior woman. She has a sword and a helmet on her arm.
