Nice satori in brave ashes. I like the brevity of words (2) one the first and third lines. Beautiful artwork and presentation and the color scheme choice to highlight it is perfect. Good luck with the voting.

Superb! Love the word economy with the first and third lines having two words, and also love that the first line is alliterated. To make a haiku that is visually appealing and also phonetically resonant and sounding good read aloud is not easy. This is outstanding! The S sounds woven through all three lines make it coherent phonetically (plus soft and hard C make a nice counterpoint). Nice alliteration of A as well.
Superb satori--
brave ashes
Imaginative and unique.
Beautiful artwork and presentation as well (fine color scheme choice to highlight it too).
Wish I had a six.
Good luck
Love,
rd

I like the art and the note about it added to my scene in my head. Sometimes art brings us to tears. And also words. They most certainly go together.

A well-written haiku. Your use of artwork makes the poem more than a poem it becomes a whole experience from the beginning to end and the reader will remember it when they have forgotten all the others poetry.

The words paint the picture already, the artwork enhances the picture and the presentation creates and atmosphere where the reader can stay and contemplate it all together. Why would anyone restrict an artist in anyway. The words do stand alone in this excellent piece, but that doesn't mean they have to. I'm delighted you brought your other talents to bare and created this environment for me. Just beautiful. You have my vote. michael

Thank you, Mike, this review means everything to me and for so many reasons. First of all, I admire you as an artist, A TRUE ARTIST, one that embraces all forms of art and incorporates them without judgement. A true artist and a writer of substance. No b.s. words, your writing comes straight from the heart.
To me, your opinion is the one that counts, not the opinions of ART NAZIS. Thank God you and I are not the only artists in fanstory. I think the majority of F.S. writers understand the simple equation, Art <= Creativity => Writing
Thank you for the vote and for the kind words, sweetie pie. Luv ya.

This is very stirring and conveys a sense of loneliness. The wolf cry, especially, gives a feeling of loneliness. Spirit soars provides some fine alliteration. Spirit and brave suggest Native Americans. Cypress is a very concrete image that helps establish place. Without the picture, I would not have got the sense of brave ashes. It does suggest a sense of lost. judi

Hi Gypsy
I love your entry, and I like the image a lot, the subject and theme of your haiku, as well as the imagery it is fantastic. The music is haunting and enjoyable, but I like to read without it. I wish you the best of luck in the contest Mary

Thank you, Mary. I will take the music off. A couple of people mentioned that too. Thank you for letting me know.

It really is a choice and very easy to press the mute button, for those who like the music can also enjoy it. Mary
