So very few words yet they
convey such depth of thought
and emotion. Your poem is
definitely unique and profound
in what you have offered us.
Good luck with the contest.
no nits or spags. Lora

Hi Marijke:)
The beauty of this poem lies in its simplicity. It speaks the simple truth that in any love relationship, each person loves the other for who they are,
Love and Irish Hugs for sharing your words,
Roger

Thank you so much, Pam. I will be away again for a few weeks, but hope to start writing again regularly from early November. I have been sick... and my husband showed his care and true loving colours during my illness. Almost back to my old self now... and off on a cruise to Hawaii, that should help with recuperation. Warmest regards, Marijke :o)

You are so welcome. I am sorry to hear about your illness, but you are lucky to have a caring husband. Glad to hear you are better. A cruise to Hawaii--enjoy, be well, and I look forward to more poetry.

A very well-written free verse poem of love. The fact that we are loved by God makes everything all worthwhile.
NS: Welcome back, I have missed reading your excellent work.

This is certainly the way it should be (in both directions) in loving relationships. Your words and presentation here are superb, and merit a sixth star; but, sadly, I am already out of them for this week.

Hi Joan, thank you for your kind review and comments. I've been sick, but much better now. However, off on a cruise next week to Hawaii. So probably not too much writing until we return early November. Regards, Marijke :o)

Thanks for the update. I am sorry to hear you were ill but so glad you have recovered and will be cruising to Hawaii. I look forward to island poems and aloha spirit in November. Big hugs- Joan

Thank you, Joan. I look forward to the trip, and then to keeping that holiday/Hawaii spirit alive on our return. Take care, my friend. Warmest regards, Marijke :o)

I think these two statements are what differentiate being in lust and being in love. Well stated and illustrated for the love poem contest. A worthy entry. Marilyn

Beautifully done. I have heard the lament of those who desire that someone will love them for them. There is the desire not to be pursued as an object of temporary satisfaction but a long term partner in forever love.
