Good morning my dear friend, Roy: I bumped into this gem today in your portfolio. This is a very precious poem and the photo is so marvelous. I love to see the sun rises. They are so glorious. I don't know if I have ever felt such absolute aloneness because I know that God, His son and Hid Heavenly organization, they are always there looking on and He keeps paying attention.
I do know what you mean though Roy for I know that your faith is strong. That kind of aloneness is so peaceful to me, if I have ever felt it. I was happy to see that you did win with this poem. I love it. Below are just some of my favorite scriptures about feeling alone: Much love...

Isaiah 41:10 & 13 _ 10)So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 13)For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

Psalm 73:23 - Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand.

Psalm 23:4 -Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Malachi 3:16Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem His name.

Luke 15:7 - I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Thank you dear Tier for the marvellous encouragement and scripture sharing, The experience inspired a song, I believe God allowed me a touch of Jesus "aloneness" in bearing my sin that morning, I won't ever forget it. That's sooo deep. I never thought that way... however, I have felt scared of the sun not being out yet and being awake. Good visual imagery created. Good flow of rhymes. Nice work.

Your poem speaks about the hardships we face daily. Sometimes these hardships become unbearable. For many, the blessings of Jesus bolsters the weakened spirit of the weary. Your poem is full of imagery and tells the story of sinners following the lord's light out of the dreary darkness that is their reality.

A wonderful message for an early morning read. Just complicated enough to make me think and not so complex as to lose the meaning. We may feel lonely, at times, but we are never really alone if we have faith. Great poem. I hope God has blessed you as much as this poem indicates. In addition to a great message, it is also well written.

This is all very fine. However, please be so kind as to tell me if you actually
mean that the hope of compassion is stolen by doubt? And then the last rhying couplet wains/lain: why isn't it 'shadows wain'

I think all things are waylaid by doubt, compassion is activated by faith, doubt restrains. Thanks for the great review, blessings, Roy

It would be scary to awaken in the morning and wonder if you are the only person left on earth. Glad you got through it. I thought this was a gteat oem. Thank you Judy

This is a beautiful poem and does make you ponder. You have described the isolation I have felt at night and I am sure many others have too. It is a gripping isolation. I am glad I have faith because that is where I turn - prayer. It softens the heavy, dark feeling and: my favorite line in this poem is - but mercy greets the dawn, on beams of brightness lain. Excellent writing.

I can really relate to the message in your poem. There are so many reasons why, and for both the real part of darkness and for the figurative with depression. I'm sure there are many who can say the same. Your poem was well stated, direct and to the point.
Well done,
Rhonda

This is lovely. I loved the theme and the rhyme and visuals. My favorite character was the 'shadows spawn.' What a picture of loneliness and seeming hopelessness. Yes, the morning brings His light and hope. Well done.
