Lovely in sentiment and in delivery. You do a wonderful job in presentation and in selecting musical accompaniment for your works, Dawn. Your opening stanza says it all, but the following ones add to the impact of the loss of love.

well, here you go again... floating me into rippled waters... watching reflections of what could and should of been, just end up as a reminder, a lesson to another life and time.
I'd say Cupid did his/her job on the first Valentine's request... the rest is up to commitment, compromise and compatibility.
Love this entry into the Valentine's Poetry Contest... it is beautifully metered and rhymed... and as per usual, loved reading your amazing limb in the never ending body of your work, my most talented friend!

Good poem with word flow that is easy to read. Also rhyming helps one to understand the message very well. No doubt it is hard to love someone, and yet not be able to be together.

Oh, that would be nice. :)) But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves; it's not over yet. Joan, you're the best! Yes, I've had contest entries ready months in advance at times. It all depends on what contests I have entered, and what comes out...I honestly never know what will or won't; I just go with the flow. Thank you!
