"Such beauty's such a wait," indeed. You packed a load of beauty in this poem. I love the visual and the emotional intensity of your observations:

"He's got a book to read and write,
new rhymes he must create;
old verse to coax, and reignite,
as rain falls thick, in spate."

This is well detailed and I can see and feel the action unfold like a movie on a screen. You have a cinematographer's eye for setting up shots. I feel the winter. Your poem is well-rhymed, but I noticed your story first. Your lines are highly polished and evocative.

I found no spags, only beauty. Thank you for taking a break from cinquians.

    Thank you, I may not go back to the cinquains - a lot of people seem happy I took a break, lol. I'm glad you liked this one, my friend Jim (Pantygynt) invented the form and it's one of my favorites :))

This is just superb, Carol. I love the tempo and cadence in this poen. It flows majestically. I also like the enchanting tale you told. I really wish I had a 6 left for this one
