Absolutely gorgeous eyes, dark chocolate longing. I'd rescue them all if I could. The terrible things that some have to live and die through..just because of where they're born. A lovely, sad poem. Blessings...

For your 5-7-5 poem you chose a subject that is prominent on the news all over the world and a major problem. All your lines and syllables were correct.
Best of luck.

This 5-7-5, Sad Refuge Eyes, has the proper syllable count and reminds us that we must act on our sympathy before it shifts to the next fad thing that ditched our attention.

This is a profoundly sad, and true statement expressed perfectly in a compressed format, a haiku. "though we shift our gaze" is a statement that haunts. well done.

sad refugee eyes

Resonating words and I can't begin to know how terrible it would be to be a refugee, to lose everything you own and throw yourself on the mercy of others, shame on us all if we turn our backs, love Dolly x

Yes thanks for reading and the critique zanya
Comment from Mitchell Brontė
A well written 5-7-5 that questions humanity, unfortunately your words ring true and most people don't care enough.
Your last line compounds this feeling wonderfully well.
Have a lovely evening

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem. I have great sympathy for real refugees. The problem is lately we cannot be sure if they are refugees or terrorists posing as refugees. We have to be careful not to make a wrong choice.

Comment from His Grayness
Beautifully done in all ways. The rhyme and meter is splendid. The artistic packaging and coloration is splendid and the message is excellent. I have no suggestions to improve this work and thank the author for a fine read! HIS GRAYNESS; Vance

Interesting picture. Good alliteration. You are right in what you say, it is heartbreaking to see the faces, especially the eyes of refugees on tv , it is very emotive and makes us uncomfortable, makes us feel guilty and useless. MaggieF

This is a really different, interesting picture illustration, which adds well to the sentiment of your poem. Good choice.
In three short lines, you have expressed the overwhelming dilemma the world has found itself in.
Well done!
