Though the title is metaphoric but this nonet poem has clarity of thoughts, flow and imagery with rhymes, it tells slice of a full life in a word, starting to finish; I liked.

Really enjoyed this nonet. A whole lifespan in 36 words.....that has to be a record!!!
It's all true. Life can be arduous and wonderful but it seems always short, for we look back and cannot believe the time that has passed.
Syllable count is spot on, I wish you well : )

Ha, yes it was a short form for a whole life, but the older I get, the more I wonder how I got here so fast! Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

Your composition is true to form, perfect syllable count as well.

We're conceived.
We're born.
We live.
We die.
It's as simple as that.

Is there an afterlife?

I'd like to thing so, but I'm not entirely sure. Perhaps the ground is as far as we go.
Or the crematorium...
